Quinn stands from the table also, looking at Agamemnon as he does. "You coming? Or you going to stay behind for a bit more?"

Thibor only stops running when he sees a vendor that has all his items. He stops there and kindly asks for the price. When the vendor says it will cost 1000 gp, he frowns.

"Are you mocking me, sir? This price is outrageous. I demand a discount."

Agamemnon, Defender of Righteousness dabs at his eyes with a handkerchief, almost oblivious to the movement of his companions. It is only when Quinn addresses him directly that he notes he is sat at the table by himself. Stretching as he stands, he draws a deep breath before turning to Quinn and Graydon with a beaming smile. "Indeed! Let us be rid of this place. The forces of evil cower in their holes as we speak - they await the radiance of Pelor to end their miserable existences and I, Agamemnon, Swift Blade of Justice, am not one to miss an appointment! Onwards to our mighty vessel!"

After a heated discussion where sparks flied everywhere, Thibor pays the vendor for his items, but not before he get the vendor to agree in giving him, a deluxe edition of the book, an extra pencil, a magical comb (prevent hair loss) and a magical set of flatware (do not oxidize).

Then he goes satisfied to the ship and wait for his companions. Now he has the means to register the history of this adventure.

Graydon leads his companions through the afternoon crowds and onward to their vessel, scanning market-goers for their ostentatious historian.

The Karaboudjan

The four heroes have regrouped on board the main deck of The Karaboudjan. They are greeted by the ship's stunningly beautiful captain, a fiery redheaded elf by the name of Kilina Rose, who gives Quinn a big kiss at their encounter (perhaps illuminating how the group managed to get the ship so easily). "Good to see you all here. Ship and crew are all ready to go. Your gear is loaded below deck, and your cabins are in the back over there. Make yourselves comfortable." She barks some orders at her crew who begin pulling up the anchors.

Graydon nods his greeting and thanks to the captain, giving Quinn a wide berth he locks lips with the lovely Rose. He heads greets the sailors, maneuvering below deck and trying as best as he can to stay out of the way. Below deck, he arranges his things on the bottom bunk, smirking at its narrowness and short bedding, and wondering how many nights he'll have to spend on the decks. Then, his adventuring gear disposed of, he heads back up to the deck, armed in the event of a sea monster (hey, worse has happened) and finding a seat on a barrel near the helm. He pulls out a pipe and thumbs a plug of tobacco into it, lighting it and watching the sailors scurry about the deck.

As soon as Thibor arrives at the ship, he was overcome by a wave of terror. He doesn't feel good unless he has tons of earth under his feet and be on a ship is probably his worst nightmare.

He stays on the dock looking to the ramp to the ship with a fearful expression on his countenance. Afraid to make the first step.

Times are tough for Jiardem Maldranthe. Plundering lost ruins hasn't been as profitable lately as it used to. Desperately needing the money, Jiardem took a simpleton job as a deck hand aboard The Karaboudjan. The work isn't his cup of tea, but at least the captain treats her crew with generosity and respect. The ship's latest mission involves transporting a group of adventurers to a lost island that doesn't appear on any maps. Rumors are abound about where exactly it is they are going. Jiardem ordinarily doesn't pay much attention to the gossip of the crew, but one rumor in particular catches Jiardem's attention: that the adventurers are going to the legendary and infamous Tomb of Horrors. This affords Jiardem an opportunity to learn about his lineage that is too good for him to pass up...

One of the ships crew finished helping one of his fellow hands secure the rigging and approached the ganglank where the relunctanly dwarf stood. "You must be here with the Goliath and the captains... friend," the Eldrazi dressed in grey and gold said, pausing unable to easily skirt around certain well implied implications. His face was of the color darkened sun baked earth and his purple eyes had just a glint of red in certain lights. "I hear we maybe going somewhere of interest. Might I inquire of you just a hint more?"

Agamemnon, Bearer of the Undying Light stands on the docks, breathing in the salty air and admiring the Karaboudjan. Hefting his maul across one shoulder he moves towards the gangplank, stopping to place a hand on Thibor's head. "Surely Master Cruxholder your not afraid of a little water? A ship as fine as this there is nothing to worry about! Worst case scenario some great beast of tentacles and teeth will rise from the inky depths and attempt to devour us whole! What a sight that would be - and what a battle! Hmm. I Shall be poorly disappointed now if the journey is quiet. Nothing like being tossed overboard and fighting the the pitch dark waters as the very air is crushed out of your lungs. Gets the heart beating!" He lets out another laugh and makes his way up the gangplank and onto the deck looking over the captain and her crew before holding out a hand to the Eladrin who shouted down earlier. "I see from your clothes that you are no simple deckhand. What is your name friend?"

"This is not just a little water. This is a lot of water." Thibor says to Agamemnon, still terrified, with a motion of his muscular arm showing the lanscape. "I don't fear beasts of a thousand tentacles or any undead abominations that can roam free over this world, but..." He suddenly stops trying to find the right words.

"I don't feel safe out of the earth, I feel like a fish out of the water. And... I have a little motion sickness." He finally says blushing a little. Then he remembers that he was called Cruxholder again by the annoying Githzerai. Thibor promptly stomps the ramp with powerful steps and stops before Agamemnon, ignoring the flashy Eladrin, with a finger pointing at his face. "Are you trying to infuriate me, my friend? Because you are being successful."

Agamemnon's smile grows larger as he points at Thibor's feet. "I see you have overcome your fear of the water! I was worried we would have had to leave you here. Welcome aboard Thibor!" He crosses his arms across his chest and lets out another great laugh.

The Eldarin turns to the Githzerai, "My name is Jairdem Maldranthe, Arcane scholar, Crypt Delver, and, currently, sailor. I guess I'll pose the same question your soon to be greener than a seasick Wilder friend there ignored. What is this place that you are heading to? A tomb of sorts if the rumors I overheard are correct?"

Agamemnon turns back to Jairdem and leans down a little so the two see eye to eye. He stares at the Eldarin for a few moments before straightening up and nodding. "You are well informed indeed though I am surprised your Captain hasn't told you your destination. We make for the Tomb of Horrors - a blasted den of evil we will purge from the face of these fair lands! When we are finished in our task the Tomb will be little more than a footnote to our glorious accomplishments!"

Jiardem couldn't suppress a grin, even if it did not carry the same enthusiasm as the crusader of Pelor that stood before him had. "I think it seems we both have interest in seeing what this place holds. Though I would not be so quick to call this place a footnote in any adventurer's journey," he said thinking of the records he found a few years back that led him to even knowing of such a place.

"I'd like to talk about joining your party's with the whole group once we're underway,"

Thibor was tricked, but instead of being enraged, he was grateful. He has a important mission to accomplish to let his fear dominate him. He steels himself to overcome the motion sickness that will sure come.

"So you want to join our party! Jiardem, that's your name, isn't it?" Thibor says to the flashy eladrin. "I may not like the fluffy arts of your race, however I am a scholar among dwarves. And I learned long ago to not judge a person just by his heritage. Deeds are much more important as a factor for consideration."

He walks some clumsy steps upon the ship's planks testing his balance, turning his back to the eladrin, but still talking to him. "I have no problem at all, if your motivation is honest enough. I am not in this journey for riches and glory. I am in this journey for a much noble purpose, to recover the history of my ancestrals and possibly carve a spot on that history for me."

Graydon stands and strolls confidently toward the group, nodding his head in a greeting to the newcomer. "I think what my bearded and scholarly friend is saying is that we could certainly use as much help on our adventure as any adventuring party. And I can say, having a crypt delver on hand might be useful. Graydon is my name, and giving these blokes room to gab is my specialty." He grins and extends his hand. "I suppose you should say 'welcome aboard' before I do."

"I was hoping that an offer might be made, and I'll be more than happy to accept. Let's just say I can appreciate someone seeking facts about ancestral history... Even if he believes my arts are fluffy... let's see you call them that when I light an abomination up in ethereal blue flames..."

Jiardem took a brief pauses to note those that had boarded. "Captain, if I'm not mistaken, and no one went ashore when I didn't notice, that should be everyone for this voyage,"

After all the necessary introductions have been made, the Karaboudjan sets sail and is soon under way. Before long the ship arrives at the midpoint between Winetha and Ironport. An anchor is dropped and the waiting begins. The night is eerily quiet and the water is calm. The moon is nowhere to be seen and the stars are as bright as ever. As minutes turn to hours the crew begins to wonder if this was all a hoax...

Then it happens.

It sounds like thunder and the ship jerks like under the force of an earthquake. A massive black sharp obelisk emerges from the depths and rips a hole into the lower hull. Water starts to pour in and some of the ship's cargo is lost, but nothing of significant value, fortunately. Against her better judgement, Kilina orders the crew not to patch the whole and some members take shifts dumping water back out as it fills in. The anchor is raised and the ship is once again underway. South. In the distance, the Isle of Serpents looms like a massive black cutting the sky. It's going to be a long night.
