Would this even function as templated? Last I checked, the number of +1/+1 counters granted, depended on the number after the keyword devour... of which this has no number. If I recall you'd have to alter the comp-rules entry for devour to make this function the way you like.

No it doesn't; tokens aren't cards so while you can exile a token, it's not breaking the rules as it is.

Changing the Comp Rules to make a card function is sloppy design. I'm just pretty sure that as worded, your card does not function.

Part of ymtc IS making the game and changing the rules. All aspects of design are practiced here. This hasnt been a problem in the 5 years I've been making cards.

You can't change the rules of the game to make ONE CARD function. It's horrible design.

While I definitely think that if you're going to be designing a card under different rules, you should be explicit about what you're modifying to get there, I also definitely don't believe it's out of the question. It should be judged as part of the whole submission. But by the judge.


Yes. It's terrible etiquette to remark on cards in a contest before they are judged. Want to remark on cards? Judge your own contest, participate in one of the many single card posting games, or go to the wording clinic, since that's what it's for.

What are you talking about? Just because I'm only making one card doesn't mean anything. This opens up so much design space its stupid. The only reason I'm making one card only is because that's the criteria.
