Fanon pretty much has latched onto the idea that Tamiyo does the guides.
For the record though, the published guide to Alara indicates that there are several walkers who go around and compile the notes. It's interesting when this sort of thing gets meta.

Maybe that planeswalker attempts to create some sort of planeswalker Academy, or some other inter-planar gathering spot.

I think we're full up on transplanar academies right now. (Zhiran has one after all)
I don't think I could handle the idea of an academy that was actually made up of purely planeswalkers.

Thought it would be cool if there was a planeswalker documenting things, like "don't go to this plane unless your prepared because it's full of Spiky DOOM monsters" so he/she/it could help new planeswalkers not get killed by said Spikey DOOM monsters

Maybe the reason there are so little planesawalkers is because they all just die on their first walk

Or it could be because the rough population estimate to produce a walker is one in a trillion.

Dragons on Innistrad = "Burned Herons" / "Fallen Herons" to the plane's natives who know nothing about dragons.

... How does that make any sense? I mean, there's kind of a huge disparity between a Heron's size and a dragon's.

Also, not really the place for that line of thought.

Mooveil, Archwing, and that other dragon from the Innistrad block have long necks, somewhat triangular heads, and slimmer bodies. Since the inhabitants might not have much experience with dragons, why not call them burned herons? Burn referring to having been used as playthings for the plane's devils, or maybe having lived in the Ashmouth. Some on Innistrad believe that there's a heron in the moon. So that's the basis for calling the dragons "burned herons," the scales being the birds' skin burned by hellfire. It helps keep the traditional high fantasy elements grounded in the setting's gothic horror theme. Or you could say they're the bastard offspring that come from demons raping angels.

But the question is WHY wouldn't they know what a dragon is? It's like not knowing what a bear is on Earth...
The second theory is as equally nonsensical since why would a dragon be anything that ISN'T a dragon?

And STILL not the place for this. This is speculation about a canon plane.

You misunderstand me; the inhabitants refer to it as a burned heron because they don't know any better. Obviously, their terminology is incorrect. They, by and large, don't know that. Since we've no elves, goblins or dwarves coexisting with the werewolves/wolfir, vampires, zombies, it doesn't seem likely that the greater populace would know what dragons are. The dragon is still a dragon; I'm providing an example of where Innistrad's dragons could come from. So that they fit in with the plane's theme. It's a canon plane, but this particular idea hasn't been discussed, so it's adrift upon the plane of Innistrad.

... WHY? Why wouldn't they know?
They know what a demon is, they know what a devil is, WHY WOULDN'T THEY KNOW WHAT A DRAGON IS?
Why does the absence of other things somehow make them incapable of understanding a dragon's basic premise? They don't need some bizarre origin.

And no, this is messing with a canon plane and canon ideas, so doesn't belong in the EM to start with. The purpose of this thread is to put random and incomplete ideas out into the aether so someone else can use it if they want to. That isn't what you're doing here. What you're doing is speculating.

There's no need to go all caps. Dragons are from a different brand of fantasy than the demons, devils, werewolves and vampires. They're more exotic on a plane where horror movie monsters are the norm. So why not add a greater sense of wonder and mysticism (or horror) to something that's usually considered a staple of fantasy? Keep in mind this is a bubble, not hard and fast canon; at the end of the day it is all fanfiction.

Doesn't change the fact that the EM has protocols about canon planes and this doesn't fit with those. Nobody in the EM is going to use it.

And so it drifts into Karona's Trench.

There was a general thread in Flavor/Storylines where I proposed dwarven pirates that used illusory magic to disguise themselves as clergy, elected officials and military officials to get access to valuable loot.

Dwarven pirates vs Dwarven anarchists

At some point the dwarven pirates played the role of hero to a coastal people. There was a historical agreement to create a free trade zone between the coastal nation and one of its neighbors that would also give the coastal nation political and economic reforms that would move it closer to a democracy. The leader of the coastal nations ceases talks with the neighboring nation.

A dwarven pirate, looting, learns that the leader of the coastal nations had imprisoned his political opponent (who had been in running with him for his position) on charges of making under the table deals with one of their other, more tyrannical neighbors. Others associated with his opponent were likewise imprisoned on trumped up charges. The dwarven pirate finds evidence that the leader's opponent was in favor of their former talks with the neighboring nation.

The dwarven pirate brings this intel to his captain; they begin to use their illusory magic to sow chaos among the peaceful protesters. Amid the rioting they hope to have unimpeded access to some rumored forges beneath the nation's capital. Dwarven anarchists see their scheme and decide to go to war against the dwarven pirates; they see the pirates as dehumanizing the people by placing them in the hands of a new ruler who would be just as bad as their leader who's been making deals with the nation's tyrannical neighbor. In the end, the nation falls and its old leader is executed by the new regime. The dwarven pirates are pardoned, while the bulk of the dwarven anarchists are imprisoned for treason.

Dwarven pirates vs Dwarven anarchists. Blue/Red vs Red/White

I'd dearly love to build a world that uses Caged Sun.

I'm just gonna leave this here.

It's a project I have some interest in doing in an academic way and it'd be fun to eventually get a couple of things together.

A plane where elves are sentient, sapient plant-beings. The goblins are made of lava rock. Leonin are worshipped as gods because their bodies are aflame with the sun's radiance. Merfolk are creatures of coral and ammonite. Nezumi are ratlike beings comprised of decomposers.

Yeah, those are dual type creature cards if they ever existed. Probably elementals.
And Nezumi are a specific culture, so you'd have to say "rat people"
