- How DO I contact a Board Administrator from an Apple device? Whenever I click the link it just auto-pops up an email that's linked to some Apple Email I have never used. I can't use my actual email since I don't know where to send it TO.
So, I was going to tell you the info is available via the user profile. Then I decided to look first. And even though my profile is set to make it public, it doesn't show. Same seems to be true for everybody. This seems like a bug to me, and so I'll make sure it gets looked at. In the meantime:
GobO_Admin -->
[email protected]GobO_Althalus -->
[email protected]GobO_Fire --> fire@nogoblinsallowed
That'll give you access to the email accounts for the site owner and both moderator leads. However, I can tell you that if you contact Admin without talking to Alth or I first, she'll just direct you to one of us. (Also, as a general rule please don't infer any patterns for staff email accounts based on those three. The pattern there isn't always true.)

- It'd be nice to know that if you get banned for something you could check your Inbox to see WHAT FOR. But you can't, since you can't log in. Sure, I can put on my Sherlock Holmes hat and figure it out (which I did), but very poor interface/communication tools there kids.
When you received your warning, you automatically receive it via PM from the system; in addition to the automatic PM, we additionally send it via email - because we recognize the ridiculousness of banning somebody and then telling them why they were banned via PMs, which they can't read while banned. If you did not receive the email, my first question would be to have you confirm the email address registered under your account is accurate; second would be to ensure the email didn't get moved to your spam filter.
Let Thor and company tell you what I got banned for. In fact, I encourage all my transgressions to be aired out here for the rest of the community to see so everyone else can see what NOT to do.
We will not, ever, publicly disclose the reason anybody received a warning. Or, for that matter, whether or not a warning was even issued to a specific poster. You are free to post the text of the email here should you choose to do so. As documented in the Code of Conduct, a "ban" is simply a measure of the number of warnings received in a one-year period.
Every warning documents the post(s) we felt violated the CoC, the reason it violated the CoC, and an invitation to contact either the issuing moderator or the moderator leads should you wish to discuss the matter.

It's not like I've ever come out and said to someone bluntly "you're an idiot"...
Yes, this is true...

but I guess clever placement of words will get you the same punishment.
...but just because you don't use the words "you're an idiot" doesn't mean your post wasn't flaming. Clever word placement or not, insulting another user is flaming.
Frankly, the rules are quite simple. Don't insult others; talk about the post content, not the poster. Don't make unfavorable comparisons to posters you don't like as a way to make veiled insults. And don't continue to post the same insults over and over even after being asked by a moderator to stop - more than once, given that you've admitted this is your 3rd ban.
