This thread needs more songs like this, things you can crank to eleven and just rock out. Anyone know more bands with similar sounds?

Not the same kinda sound, but I've always loved this song because of group singing.

Dropkick Murphys you say? Indeed, not quite the same sound but still good stuff. Its too late to go linking their Christmas Song, so I'll just go ahead and do this one instead:

Everyone always knows the chorus...but the rest of the lyrics are actually pretty awesome if you listen to them. I'd love to see these guys live sometime.

Still one of my favorite bands of all time. I believe that they pioneered heavy metal with a mixture of gripping, imaginative lyric; melodic sensibility and ripping guitar centered music that has a heavy rhythm section keeping the Earth quaking.

Here is an old one that happens to be one of my favorite examples of the above points all in one song.
I'll post a few more of my choice favorites from:

Judas Priest

I love what they did with Joan Baez's song.
Definitely not folk music.

Also, Unleashed in the East along with Little Feat's Waiting for Columbus still stand as two of the best recorded / mixed / mastered live recordings ever.

My friend and his wife just put out an EP on band camp for all you jazz lovers. She's got an amazing voice. Here's a sample:

Wuster, Judas Priest is amazing. More people should like them.

Amazing what moving will bring out of the wood work.
I was going through cd's and tossing the bad ones or burned mixes and such to lighten the load and I came across something I hadn't thought about in years.

Back in 2010 my wife and I were having a cross country conversation with a friend in Maryland about misheard song lyrics. You know.
"There's a bathroom on the right"
"Squse me while I kiss this guy"
We were having quite a time and then he brought up Slow walking Walter, fire engine guy for Smoke on the Water. I hadn't heard that one before and it tickled my brain.
So withing four hours we had lyrics written for the song, I found a backing track and pulled out the guitar and sang our song.
Forgive the over modulation on the mic. I had my good one out on loan that day.
Here are the lyrics and a little video I just made for youtube.

Spoiler

These things in music need to **** die:

- Crystal-clear production jobs
- Clicky "typewriter" bass drums
- Breakdowns
- Catchy choruses

No. These things are plagues upon modern music that have led to cookie-cutter, generic music, and need to stop.
