Let's talk about Rapid Fire.

Is it the most stupid card ever printed? Some say it is, some say it is cute. What do you say?

Well, mechanics wise it is silly, but enough about that.

I find the artwork very weird. Is that person hitting the guy's shield many times?

Not sure about 'silliest ever' but that's pretty dang derpy.
And yeah, he's hitting the shield a bunch. Which is sort of impressive. Kind of. In a way. Ish.

Not by a long shot. I wish more cards gave Rampage though.

I think either the art or the name needs to be changed. Or maybe I'm taking "Rapid Fire" too literal.

You know legends had a huge AD&D theme. I wonder if there was a spell in one of the tomes for Rapid Fire as done in this card.

So, if it didn't have that "before blockers are chosen" clause, would it break mechanically since Rampage wouldn't have anything to trigger off of?

With that rider it's kind of awkward from a flavor perspective because Rapid Fire as a name sort of suggests a sudden, unexpected burst that allows the creature to quickly mow through a whole line of enemies but mechanically this discourages blocking, making it almost like functional evasion and reducing the coolness factor that I think the card is trying to capture... Although actually since it doesn't give trample it would be easy to just block with one creature and have done with it.

Man the more I think about it the less this card makes sense.

Sometimes I think it's a miracle that Magic lasted long enough to get out of printing truly awful cards.

It isn't that awful. I mean it's a niche card sure, but it gets the idea of Rapid Fire (launching multiple shots at one quick time), and sure it's timing restrictions are weird. However, is it really that awful, you can use it to deter blockers, so you can get that crucial damage through, or use it on one creature in a bands (which was another ability that was themed in Legends), so the whole bands gets through, or you kill a creature w/ First Strike.

I do think four mana is a bit much though, however, just one I want to combo this w/ Lure to make another Craw Daddy combo.
