Today's random flavor discussion card is Sunweb.

I find it funny that the first printing features the Sunweb killing a dragon, and in the later printings shows a Sunweb made out of Dragon wings. Is it the same dragon?

The old flavour makes sense: some sort of aerial, sunlight-based snare. This dragon-wing reinterpretation just confuses me. Unless it is a rather cheap refference to the original dragon-killing flavour, I fail to see the connection between zombie wings and sunlight.

On the plus side, it is yet another card that showcases White-aligned undeath.

Should be errata'd to "Dragon Wall".

I've not been able to find a good high-res version of the newer art, but if I could, I bet it would reveal that the leftover dragon wings are being suspended in the sun-web, much like this rendition:

The flavor text was probably added later by a person who could only see the smaller version of the art and didn't realize that the dragon wings were not the thing the card was referencing.

That is *some* awkward artwork right there.

I have a fun story about this card. It was originally designed with the text "Sunweb cannot block white creatures," but then the art came back and it had a big white dragon being caught in the web, so they had to change the ability.

MaRo told the story during an episode of Drive to Work.

I like the original art a lot, actually. There's something about it that really appeals to me.

@Azure: Where'd that art come from? It's not bad conceptually, though the rendering could use some work.

I've always been a fan of the Mirage Art. I actually ran it in a modern wall deck for a bit, and still have a playset in me and my twins much older Wall deck.
