Fabled Hero is definitely one I would like to try. So, if I saw this as pack 1, I'd go with it. Even though Hart is alright (it chumps, fixes, and ramps).

Anyone have any experience using this Hero? It seems like the Double Strike would actually be able to keep it relevant into mid/late-game as the monstrous stuff was coming down. And White is the solid-est Heroic color.

It's either Fabled hero or Lightning Strike. The other cards are good, but not as good as those two.

Hero wins games. First strike is already good, double strike demands removal. Drafting white means you get to protect it. Hart is a strong second choice and if you know someone is drafting green or red you could hate draft that to kill the midrange decks. Let them take strike and just make sure you get some thigns with greater than 3 tougheness. There are some good walls and other things at common, and lots of pump.

2/2 double strike for 3 is good. The moment you enchant him, he wins unless your opponent has immediate removal.

Second choice would be lightning strike for exactly this reason. Many heroic guys need to be dealt with before they're enchanted, otherwise they get out of reach of most removal.

3rd I'm not sure whether I'd go for verdict or hart. Hart's accel is pretty awesome, but verdict is a removal that can kill almost anything. That's rare in this format. Unfortunately, it's a little obvious and can be played around. Since it's a 3rd pick, it would depend on my first two pick.

Hero, for sure.

Not only is it the best card in the pack, after taking it, I would be happy to see any of these come back around, and it is highly likely at least a few would:

Lightning Strike
Divine Verdict
Opaline Unicorn
Observant Alseid
Spark Jolt
Burnished Hart
Akroan Hoplite

Hero Hero Hero. If it weren't there, I could see arguments for taking a bestow creature over Strike. I still haven't drafted the set, but I feel like Aura creatures can steal a lot of games just by upsizing at opportune times. Enough to be better than a solid burn spell? Likely not. I like drafting into archetypes anyway.

Fabled Hero for me, but I really wanted to build a deck around him...

Fabled hero is amazing. It's not as awesome in practice as it can look on paper because of how it draws hate like a lightning rod (and generally will be within range of anything until you untap with it.) On the other hand, it wins games single-handedly if not answered real fast. Ever see one that grabs an Ordeal of Heliod the turn after it drops with Gods Willing left back to run interference? It's not pretty if you're on the wrong side of the table.

First pick
Hero->
emissary->
strike->
verdict=hart->
triton=agent=oplite(down if I don't have one of the colors)->
alseid=centaur->
ray(up if pack 3 and I dont have naturalize effects)->
unicorn->
jolt->
hearth.
Last pick.

I guess this is how I rank them.

Hero. Just look at the rest of the pack. Something playable in white will wheel. I mean, crap, this is a pretty strong pack, there are only two true unplayables in it.

Also, lightning strike is the next pick. Removal guys.

Fabled Hero, the Green Emissary, Burnished Hart, and Lightning Strike are all first-pickable cards. If hero weren't in the pack, I'd probably take Strike, or the Emissary if I were worried about wanting a playable card to table (the Agent)

I completely missed the emissary for some reason. It doesn't change my first pick, but I would pick it over verdict or hart.

Hero > Strike, but it's close. Good pack though.

Just to play devil's advocate for this pack:

I'm thinking divine verdict is the 2nd best card in this pack, not emissary. It's pretty good removal.

Burnished hart, if it's good in the format and I think it will be, is a decent first pick for the drafter intent on staying open and reading signals, so it's quite fair to pick that (as the first responder did).

Hero. I think white is really good in this set so you shouldn't have problems building around it. I'd hate to pass on that Lightning Strike though.
