I was thinking about Ajani and Elspeth and was like "what does he see in her" and then I was like "duh, he's empathic; he sees the good in her she doesn't think exists."

And now I'm like "Awwwwww, he can see the good in her she doesn't think exists."

I didn't care all that much about Ajani at first. And then I saw the way he cares for Elspeth, and the leader he is to his people, and now he's one of my favorite characters. It's amazing, it's like whoever is writing the flavor text for his stuff is... uh... well, clearly not the same person writing the flavor text for Jace, for one thing. What a remarkable contrast.

@Nekoneko:

I feel like her ongoing trauma would be a lot more... I dunno, a lot more something... if we had more material exploring it. Like, if there had been a book for Scars of Mirrodin, that would've helped. Too bad there definitely wasn't one.

:shudder:

The idea of her nightmares being infected with oil doesn't reeeally make any sense though...

Ew! Most disgusting indeed!

I believe the proper Tamalesian name for the woman is "Misty". Don't worry if you don't get the reference. It just means you're about to discover something wonderful.

You're referencing Polish Tamale, a well known and sort of oversaturated artist.
She's not particularly nice. Sweet to her fans, but perched firmly atop her Ivory Tower looking down on the little people and lamenting that all that cake isn't getting eaten.

Maybe I'm showing my Old Man creds again, but I immediately thought of Play Misty For Me.

You haven't finished that yet?

No, I got down to the last few chapters, then a combination of life and the site moving happened. Then I had to reboot that computer and bought a new one. Though I might be able to piece it together tonight to start finishing it.

Oh no, I do get it. And I find it very silly. Like 99% of her work in regards to shipping.

The ManaDeprived comics also (quasi-platonically) ship Jace and Misty, on a regular-ish basis.

She doesn't ship. She panders.
