My only experience with the format is sealed. I never saw a counterspell get played and only had one in my pool so my perceptions may be skewed.

But how many removal spells did you see played?

Because those counter Helix too.

I feel like Meletis Astronomer wins here.

I fourth that suggestion. Astronomer all the way. Reading Jman's post has convinced me to change my answer to Nyxborn Rollicker. There are better cards outside of U and R but of the cards in our colours I'd rather have a cheap creature that enables heroic than a heroic creature that's not worth wasting spells on.

Meh, not too happy about this pick.

I'd rather take Nyxborn Rollicker over Astronomer.

Astronomer is a poopy 1/3.

I actually really like Mortal's Resolve. Card seems super stronk, and I'd rather play green than red. Or another Stratus Walk

Floodtide Serpent

Not very exciting by itself, but maybe we can pick a Fate Foretold or Dragon Mantle to go with it.

I think I'd rather go with Pharagax Giant.

I like the idea of recurring enchantrips so I'll spec on the serpent.

Hmmm... my gut reaction was take the giant... but there are A LOT of blue enchantrips.
My concern is that by the time this guy comes down (turn 6 or 7) I am not sure I want to be bouncing cantrips around. I guess we can gum up the board with cyclopes and the like.

What about the red spell that doesn't cost 5 mana?

I'd rather have Floodtide Serpent than a Tribute guy.

Serpent, although now I'm little sad we went with Astronomer instead of Rollicker last pick.

Nothing wrong with a 5/5 for 5... or five to someone's face when you're holding a bounce spell in your hand. However I don't have a strongly formed opinion on cards in this set yet so this all good.
