Mankind existing would still be unexplainable as just a random number lottery and nothing else.

Fox pictures would then use this as leverage to meddle in MTG design so they can better integrate film and movie for maximum merchandising potential. Thus the card game will become a zombie husk chained to a successful movie franchise. Inevitably they'll release a movie that sucks and the franchise will topple like a house of cards. A gutted Magic: The Gathering: The Movie: The Card Game, will be unable to survive on it's own and we'll all switch over to playing Kaijudo in time for the Kaijudo movie to come out.

Then the combined cat/dog people would redirect their anger towards the exotic pet people, who would not be prepared for such an assault. Chaos and a bloodbath would follow.
