This is the place for any extended OOC discussion and/or character sheets. I recommend keeping the OOC discussion to the other thread if you can though, since I find that it tends to detract from the RPing if OOC and IC are separated.

I'll just start off with an example character sheet -

Posidon & Negatiri

Appearance: Both teenage, male and female respectively

Equipment:
  • Electrically Enhancing Sword & Mace: Each has a weapon with an anode (Posi) or cathode (Nega) inside it. It is separated from the main body of the weapon (made of a very conductive metal) with a coating of Teflon (an insulator), but there is a trigger to allow the anode/cathode to come into contact with the weapon. When activated, these weapons enhance the electricity generated by the duo. Posi wields the sword (the anode is in the middle of the sword blade), while Nega wields the mace (the cathode is inside the spiky part of the mace)
  • Normal Batteries: Due to their static, either of them can easily overcharge a normal battery in seconds, which causes an explosion. Useful as a easily-acquired grenade.
Powers: Electricity Generation
  • Both Posi and Nega's bodies have abnormal amounts of static electricity. On their own, the static affects others like any other normal person who purposely charged himself with static - Nothing much except experiencing a small shock on contact with another person/thing.
  • However, when both come into contact with each other (or near each other), a current (aka electricity) is generated. Think of them as two sides of a battery - Posi the '+' end, and Nega the '-' end
  • The greater/closer the contact, the larger the amount of electricity generated
  • This power is involuntary and cannot be controlled by either (except keeping their distance when necessary)
  • Due to their abnormal amounts of static electricity, they are resistant to all forms of electrical attacks (think of them as a wire)
  • There are a myriad of applications for the electricity generated, common ones include generating an electric field around themselves, using it as an erratic (often barely controllable) propulsion method for flight, magnetizing metallic objects, and short-circuiting electrical machinery

His wealth and current station in life is built on a vast family fortune. He was born with the ability to use the shadows as a means to travel,along with an ability to use the shadows of himself and others to do his bidding.

He is currently the last in a very long family line that goes back centuries, he has grown bored with the day to day going ons in the royal court and has become a thief to test his skills and abilities.He also tends to make appearances at any and all major social events.

He is also quite adapt at using a sword and a dagger making quick attacks by jumping out of any shadows that are near the target before disappearing and reappearing somewhere else.

Appearance: Medium-length green hair, red markings on face. A creature resembling an owl travels with her, usually perched on her shoulder if she isn't doing anything. The owl is named Lily, and can communicate with Alya through melodic vocalizations.
Abilities: Shares senses with Lily. Lily is able to grow in size to become several meters tall. In this form she is physically stronger and can control nature to an extent with her voice.

Appearance: Short female elf, brown hair, brown eyes.

Equipment: hooded wool cloak, linen tunic, leather armor and leggings, leather gauntlets, belt with sword, dagger, and coin pouch with a few silvers and coppers, leather walking boots, backpack with bedroll, healing herbs, bandages, a few torches, flint, whetstone, waterskin, biscuits, jerky, and silk rope.

Abilities: Sobriquelle is a skilled young fighter, but she is also an expert at quietly dispatching enemies unawares. She's generally quiet and cautious.

Man, had the strongest urge to have Kriss get pissed over the mention of slaves... but it seemed that introducing him to two other players through him throwing heavy objects might not go so well for the rest of the game...

Once a Mage-Knight, now an adventurer. Takes jobs like escorting, demon hunting etc wherever his feet brought him.

Name: Xel
Race: Human
Gender: Male
Appearance: Middle-aged man, around 37 years old. Average-sized but rugged-looking. Black hair. Blue eyes. Multiple scars along his hands, arms and body, which he keeps hidden under his clothes and gloves. He is also missing his shadow.
Abilities: Despite being a Mage-Knight, he prefers the sword and physical combat since he lacks pure magical strength. He primarily focuses his magicks through the three rings on his fingers (two on his left, one on his right), mostly combat tricks. Carries a metal staff that doubles as a hiking stick and non-lethal weapon. Excellent observation skills and well-honed sixth sense.

Appearance: Small in stature, about four and half feet each. Neither appear physically mature in proportions. While dressed in typical commoner's clothing of male and female style, underneath, both wear full body suits of subdued browns and grays, gloves, hoods, and masks. The one in female clothing wears a necklace with a small but prominent red-jeweled starburst symbol; the one in male clothing wears small goggles, usually loosely around his neck.
Powers: Fury is a lumenomage, though primarily an evoker/conjurer and a theurgist, rather than a mancer/diviner; this also includes some ability to magically manipulate fire and force to a lesser extent. Ruin is a devotee of St. Cuthbert, and uses divine powers both for protection and destruction, normally with vibration and sound. Both are quite inexperienced, even if talented for their age.

So, I know the characters are still introducing themselves to each other, and I'm having a lot of fun with it, but how do adventures begin without a DM? I've never seen an RP like this before, so I'm still quite new to the idea. Really enjoying it, though.

Abilities: Rhis is a very big strong man who can definitely beat anyone in a fight. However, he has no magic.

Equipment: Rhis carries a sword for self defence, which he is very bad at using. He'd rather just fist fight.

Backstory: Rhis has lived in the same old tiny town since he was born. Every day at noon he comes to the tavern for a drink. He isn't a drunkard though, just a man who likes his ale.

Rhis strongly supports the king and is very upset by the recent rumours of a coup. If there was a war, Rhis would probably fight with the king's army

Hey, I know this is going to sound stupid, but I need to ask this question: could I, theoretically, join in without reading most of what's already happened? I worry that if I try to join after something has started happening -say, players adventuring far from the starting point- I would end up being obtrusive.

Also, I'm supposed to be concentrating on my duties in the M:EM, so don't expect me too soon. If I'm going to join anything, it will be when I can devote a bit of time to it.
