meddle is an anti-splice spell right? That's why they language is ... odd? You cannot "counter" a splice - becuase it's never cast (like a bloodrush but not discarded or whatevs).

It cancels the spell and causes you to discard the splice (and if you have any other identical splices gets them too). It tech vs. us. And a hard counter at CMC 4 which is something I guess.

Counterspells are normally bad in Limited, but this deck can play counter-go, since many of our spells are instants, and we don't need to tap out for creatures. So a counter or two can come in handy against bombs.
