Thank you. Account removed. We've added a few more restrictions to account names.

Please don't remove underscores. So many places do, but I like my user name... had it on so many sites...

I agree, I hate sites that don't allow underscores.

Even if we did remove underscores, you already have the name so it wouldn't do anything retroactively. Those settings only apply on a going-forward basis.

That said, yes: underscores and dashes should absolutely be permitted.

In private messages, if you delete an old pm, it deletes that message sent in that pm from the message history.

meaning, if i want to clean out my inbox because of the limited space, i can't just keep the most recent message and have the saved chat history.

any way to fix this?

I don't know whether this is a bug, exactly, but I'm unable to view any threads whatsoever unless I'm logged in. It shows the area the forums should be, but says "this board has no forums".

I tried this with both Firefox and Opera, and get the same thing. Now, I understand that we need user participation to keep afloat, but personally I would always lurk to see if there was anything worth saying first. And I'd be willing to bet a lot of people aren't going to want to register to see whether this place is worth it or not.

Not a bug, it's a feature. ;)

Turning that off is still on the to-do list. I need to find it (or stall long enough for Bun to get it).

My apologies, I thought someone else had taken care of this already. The forums should now be visible to people who aren't logged in.

I'll mess around with the PM functionality to try to improve this.

Follow up: There is not an option for this built into the forum. It seems that the boards' PM system is intended to work in the way you described.

So there is apparently a 3 quote max. Meaning 3 quotes within each other allowed in a post.

I understand the point of avoiding 50 quote messages, but is it really necessary?

Not a big deal either way, but just something I noticed.

I think this is something reasonable we can discuss. I'll bring it up with the rest of the staff and see what we want to do about it. There are preferences each way but maybe we can come to a compromise somewhere.

I'd actually rather it not have any nested quotes, they take up so much space

Unfortunately, there isn't really a way to give user set options re quotes. The quote limit of 3 is practical, and the pm deletion issue is really the best way to work it. If uou want to same pms, you can still quote them in the conversation, though.

Bolding together with color doesn't seem to work very well.

Like this.

Edit: Nevermind, I can't replicate the error. I probably did something wrong.
