How close are people to starting?

I still need to fill out the background and whatnot but from a strictly mechanical standpoint I am ready to go whenever. I'll try to get the description/personality thing done when I get back from work if not having it done is an issue.

Hello. I haven't played any D&D in many years (around the end of 2E/beginning of 3E). I played mostly 2E and a little of the original before that as well as a few other table tops. I've never tried PbP and I have been so out of touch in the table top RPG world I never even heard of this Pathfinder until just a few days ago when NeoSilk was talking to me about it.

I've been wanting to play D&D again and I would like to give this a serious shot as it looks like it could be a lot of fun. I'm not sure if it is too late to sign up or not but I could have a character and background done by later on this evening if others are willing to wait a day or 2 (if not I understand).

I have a fun back ground brewing for a Ranger class that I would enjoy trying out. A Druid or some other naturistic class would also work with what I have been thinking about. I would like to get input from the other players as to what class they think might fit best within the group. I think we have an inquisitor (which is completely new to me but after reading the above posts I have a good idea now) and a wizard. A more melee oriented class may be best suited but I could also see sticking with a more "mystical" set-up as I am seeing already. Any input from anyone would be appreciated.

Edit: I have written out the background story and just need to actually roll the character and do all that kind of stuff. I can PM the DM my back story and whatnot to get it approved/make any changes that might need to be changed and then I can post it on here if the DM wishes. Still awaiting word as to whether or not I can join before I do much else.

Okay, so after reading over your backstory, I have a fair warning for you:

If you keep it as is, the world is going to become a much more difficult place for every player who plays in it, present and future. The parental interactions are fine, but the bit about the land and animals will adversely affect the world, which I am completely okay with, but it will change the world and I can guarantee you, it won't be for the better. I encourage everyone to make decisions that will impact the world, just make sure you know what you're doing before you do, because once it starts, it's your job to fix it. Again, just a warning.

Now, with that said, there's a lot to read over. Check the game's OC (out of character) thread for more info on character creation, just about all known info is thrown in there, and there's a lot of info to go through. In fact, as a note to all three of you, despite beginning in a new IC (in character) thread, you'll be sharing the OC thread with the other party that is currently running, if only because it seems like a waste to have to copy / paste all that lovely info.

I suggest building your character sheet on Myth-Weavers, Garran has a link to his just above this if you wanna follow that to the site and make your own. I do wanna start it up soon, so please try and get your information done. If you have any other questions regarding character creation, please let me know.

Awesome. If we have the time I would like to discuss the details with you. I wouldn't want this to impact the whole world on a grand scale as much as just that portion of the world/continent or even just an area within the continent. Before doing that I would also like to talk to the other players within this world to get their opinions on this as well. I don't know if that is very viable as I know you have a whole other group in this world as well as this group here. It may take some extra time to talk to everyone (or at least nearly everyone). If you don't mind the time this may take, and others don't mind the time this may take, then I wouldn't mind discussing this with everyone involved. I don't see why this would effect nearly everything (not that it isn't on a somewhat big proportion) but just in that area of the world.

The other players won't be from your section of the world, so they'll have no say on that really. As I said, it's only up to you, if you wanna give me new tools for my NPCs, go right ahead, but it's your choice. ^_^ Aside from that, I think the other two are about ready to get going, so I may start them ahead of you, and work you into their roleplay if that's okay.

Would it be ok with you if I go ahead and roll my character and decide on the official background here in a couple days? That way I can still start with the others but also have a little bit of time to talk to them as well.

Well, nevermind. ;( I just got some pretty bad news a few minutes ago and it looks like I am going to have to take care of some RL issues and will not have time for this in any sort of immediate future.

Both of you will have the opportunity to begin the game soon. I'm actually gonna lump you in with the other game since they're losing PlaneShaper, so six players shouldn't be bad to run. Their combat will be ending to work you guys in later tonight.
