Bile Blight
Instant

Target creature and all other creatures with the same name as that creature get -3/-3 until end of turn.

Not an arrow loosed, javelin thrown, nor sword raised. None were needed.

From here.

I am loving the uncommon removal in this set. Loving it.

So for one -1/-1 less than Grasp of Darkness I can get the echo effect? Deal. This card's all kind of awesome.

Yeah, actual removal is really nice for a Limited format.

For a little bit, I was upset, thinking this was too unfair to non-black token decks, then I realized that most tokens besides creature-copy ones like pack-rat don't have names, so it won't be able to chain off things like the inspired creature generators' tokens or 1/1 soldiers that lots of things generate.

Seems like this was designed to be a Nightveil Specter and Pack Rat killer. I think wizards mentioned Fleecemane Lion as well in their article, but that makes no sense, as it's monstrous form is a 4/4, so even if you targeted a non-Hexproof one that is out at the same time, the monstrous one would still be alive, and there is other stuff black has in Standard that can deal with the non-Monstrous form of the lions, and they're probably better off with trying sacrifice effect on someone with a lion.

It's still an amazing card though, and a huge buff to Black for the upcoming standard metagame.

This is awesome. I hope there's a cycle of double-colored spells like this; we already have RR too.

If that is true, then I think this card is overpowered, severely so, in both standard and limited.

Edit: Given that it usually won't hit your own creatures, and can get multiple opponent creatures, this is relatively cheap, and token generation is relatively costly. If this can really get a bunch of tokens like that, I think it should really have cost or even /, in order to justify being able to shut down token decks even better than wrath-type effects. Well, at least most huge tokens, like Wyrm tokens, will survive, but I think this could almost single-handedly end master of waves dominance in standard, to the point of people splashing or side-boarding black just for this card.

Hello World is correct - tokens have the name of their creature type, unless otherwise specified. So your 2/2 green Wolf creature tokens made by Garruk Relentless have the exact same name as your 1/1 black Wolf creature tokens made by Garruk, the Veil-Cursed. It's effective at killing tokens, sure, but then again so is Homing Lightning. The only big difference is that this hits at 2 mana, which is wonderful, but certainly not overpowered.

Wat? How is this not overpowered compared to homing lightning? Look at the difference in mana costs! Consider the fact that this bypasses stuff like indestructible from boros charm and rootborn defenses. The only good strategies to stop this I can see, besides counterspelling it, that wouldn't be just put in for the sake of dealing with this one card, is Brave the Elements and Tower Defense. Fortify or Biomass Mutation might be able to pull it off, but for much higher cost.

I have a feeling blue Master of Waves decks will run more Negate just to stop this.

...

I'd imagine they'll take Negate to stop the new Infest, since that hits all creatures. This just hits ones with the same name, so as long as you have 3 creatures out with different names, this becomes nominally worse than a Ultimate Price. Is it a good card? Sure, but far, far from broken.

The green one will be "**** Storm"

You don't need a sweeper to deal with Master of Waves' tokens. You can just doom blade it. Actually you can just cure it. This gives you an out to double master of waves I guess..

There are a bazillion spells that hit all x/1 tokens. This is pretty good against 3/3s - and I guess green and hammer of purphoros hits that.

This is pretty good against 3 pack rats.... maybe even 4-5 if you have a blocker or too.
Actually it works against N pack rats if you have N-3 blockers with >0 power. Because if you ding 1 rat it dies and the others all get -1 toughness. Well, assuming no more rats can be made!
