He's probably busy discovering new laws of physics that explain how a group of adventurers can destroy the sun, save the world and reinstate the sun again all in about a years' time.

Making 2 references here that Plane would get - First, he was my raidleader in WoW during Wrath of the Lich King and suddenly stopped showing up. According to my understanding of it, it turns out he had hit upon some physics work that he had been working on for a long time and suddenly had a breakthrough, so he put a lot of time and resources into it.
2nd reference was to the first DnD campaign he led IRL for our playgroup in which we ended up killing a dragon that represented the sun, causing the sun to go out, having to travel to the plane of the gods and rescue Melora who was imprisoned by Asmodeus and ask her to restore the sun on our planet. It was epic.

Good old Wrath days... though I miss BC raiding even more.

I've never actually fought a dragon in D&D ... my games always fizzle out. I've played a ton of lower level games...never made it to Paragon or Epic... :(

For most of our play group it was our very first campaign ever, so Plane structured it such that we played a few levels at 1-5ish, then he bumped us up to 11-15 or so, and then 21-24 for the last bit so we experienced the game at all stages. But the campaign did take over a year to play through, playing about once every other week.

Wrath was good times, but I do kinda miss those long runs through Karazhan.

Kharazhan was my favorite 'relaxed' raid. It was just a fun one to run through with friends and not have to try too hard.

I was an officer in one guild in BC while being raid leader of another...and would 'sell' Khara runs from one to the other lol. We'd clear as far as we could on my alt guild and then sell the final bosses to my main guild so they could gear alts, under the conditions that certain people could tag along. So it let me gear up the tanks and healers for my guild I was running and get Kara on farm so that we could start on other things.

Blackrock Mountain will always be my favorite area though.

Any chance you could prod Planeshaper IRL ?

I know he's missed multiple turns in Squinty's Sandbox and in Keep on the Shadowfell... we're waiting on him here, and Arcane Archer is waiting on him for SDSS.

He's supposed to be leading an L5R campaign for several of us IRL starting plausibly tomorrow so I may see him this weekend. Additionally he sometimes shows up on Friday nights at the local comic book shop for Friday Night Magic (the Gathering). So if I don't see him this weekend, it'll probably be at least another week.

Planeshaper was there on Saturday. He's just been extremely busy at work which is why we haven't seen him here much. I'm sure he will pop back in soon.

Thats one thing I never understood. Even when I get too busy to update games and such, theres always a point where you have enough time to log on and say "Yo, I'm gonna be busy for a few days." rather than leaving multiple games hanging, waiting on you, without even a word. Bit of common courtesy really.

In this day and edge most everyone has a cellphone that can surf the web, and a single post in the OoC Tavern saying that your busy but will come back could be done in less than 60 seconds. It be done at a stoplight in traffic, sitting on the bus, under the desk at work, laying in bed before you doze of... even sittin on the john.

*shrug*

Funny you should mention that. I actually get onto the guys I play FFXIV (MMORPG) with about that same thing.
If they are late or miss a day we're supposed to be "Raiding" and they don't take the time to post on our forums or call me to let me know they're not going to be there then I count it as a strike against them and if they get three strike I kick them from the group permanently and they're never allowed to come back.

*Casual repetition of the 'If hes honestly busy it takes a few seconds to post a message saying so' rant. *

Okay, well its been yet another week. As the DM has still not bothered to even log in log enough to say "Sorry guys game is over" (or even update the DM's of the other games he's in.) I'm going to go ahead and bow out.

It was interesting at least building a 5e character, though I didnt get to do much in combat save for swing a stick a time or two. Seeing how 5e does skill checks and saving throws was nice at least.

A please playing with / meeting you all.

I got the word from Planeshaper last night. He's not coming back because he doesn't have the the time.
It's officially over. Fare thee well.

Agreed.

A mere 45 seconds of his busy busy life could have been spend updating the group that he wasnt coming. And it could have been done 2+ weeks ago so that we could have moved on to other things.

Flaky players/DMs that vanish without a word are a part of Play-By-Post though, so I guess it was only a matter of time until it happened here as well.

Deruvid, thanks for updating us all the same. You know, there's plenty of other games around here to join as well. Do you think you'll hang around and check out the other games / threads? I mean, anyone still checking in on this thread is more then welcome!
