I chose my words intentionally and was not meaning people who are pro Palestine. In the early months after the 10/7 attack when I saw folks trying to get ppl fired over opinions on it, I wasn’t seeing targets who were just pro Palestine, it was people who spoke positively about the Hamas attack or general pro-Hamas support

Cool news story from last week:

There are two Second Cup franchises (it's a Canadian coffee shop franchise similar to Starbucks but less prolific, less successful, less good. So much less good that I worked for them during college) in the Montreal Jewish Hospital (best Montreal hospital, that's where my dermatologist is. I actually gotta go on the 16th.)

Anyway, apparently franchise owner is pro-Palestinian and got filmed at a protest (at my former university) doing nazi salutes, chanting antisemitic slogans ("the final solution is coming your way"). The lady owns TWO Second Cup locations in the hospital.

So this happened on Thursday. On FRIDAY, Second Cup publicly announces that they are permanently shutting down her two locations and revoking the franchise agreement.

Pretty awesome.

Another genocide conversation that segues into chili.

My wife grows green chili peppers in her garden. I used 2 of those cuz they were scary hot when she added 1 to her salsa chicken last time. I checked 2 hours in to cooking and it wasn't hot enough so I added about 1/4 jar of chipotles, two or maybe four palms full of red chili pepper flakes, a tablespoon or more of ancho chili powder and ground red pepper.

I also throw some red chili flakes into the oil while I sautéed the garlic
