Two people investigated KoD and got Threat: Amber and Rag.

Meanwhile, THREE people investigated KoD and got innocent: KoD, Lain, and Myself.

Now, if results were mucked with, then that's possible... But if results weren't mucked with, then 3 innocents is impossible (the Naive and one of Sane/Insane cops should be the only ones returning with an innocent result on him).

This means either results WERE mucked with, or one of KoD/Lain lied (excluding Myself because I know I didn't lie).

Given my result Night 0 and Night 2 were identical, it stands to reason no Night-wide powers were used these Nights...

That doesn't mean results weren't mucked with, but it does reduce the likelihood of that...

It's easier for me to post when I'm not at work.

That and I've mostly been relying on you guys to logic this game out so I don't have to devote more brain power than I need to expend to operate.

*I'm just noticing now that KoD's result on himself Night 2 was inverted from his earlier testimony. Somehow I missed that when skimming previously. That means, unless KoD is the killer, either his results Night 0 or Night 2 were mucked with.

Given these results, I think it's probably safe to assume that Lain is our Naive cop.

The lack of a death and KoD having his result inverted would suggest either KoD is the killer and simply forgot to submit his action or KoD was targeted by the Killer Night 2 using an ability that replaces the Killer's kill for that night. Given we've established it would have to be a targeted ability and not a night-wide one, then it seems unreasonably bad to lose out on the killer's means of reducing the town players just to affect a single person's results...

I think it is safe to say the killer has got to be either KoD or Rag. From my POV and based on my analysis, logic would dictate it was one of them as the most likely candidates all game so far. Day 1 & 2 I think I preferred Rag over KoD, but Night 2's results has me scratching my head and thinking now that KoD is more likely. But then, maybe that is what Killer Rag wants me to think?...

Whatever the case may be, I fully trust Lain from here on out. There are fringe possibilities where Lain is not the Naive cop, but it requires so much to go wrong that it's not worth considering in my eyes.

I think the evidence points to Rag, but my sense of balanced game design says that having a single-target ability to swap a result that also replaces your kill is pretty bad, enough that I almost prefer to believe KoD made a mistake than to believe Rag would have such an ability...

I think I have to be Insane, right? And if I am the Insane cop, then KoD is the Killer.

Let's see if any options exist besides my being Insane...

Sane: If I were Sane, then my Night 1 results on Amber were flipped. In this reality, KoD cannot be Sane but could be Insane or Paranoid if his Night 0 results were simply flipped. Maybe the Killer can invert a single target's results each and every Night, in addition to Killing on odd-numbered Nights? So I'd be Sane, with my Night 1 results inverted, KoD would be Insane or Paranoid with his Night 0 results inverted, Amber would have to be the other of Paranoid/Insane, and then Rag is Naive with her Night 2 results inverted... Lain is the Killer here. This timeline works if (and only if) we assume the Killer can invert a single target's results each and every Night in addition to killing on odd-numbered Nights. I would consider this a remote possibility because I think it defies Occam's Razor (the simplest explanation is often the correct one).

i think the simplest solution is that kod is the killer so i'd probably err on that side.

Honestly, though, I was expecting it to be Zinger. Frankly, I can't imagine what the twist is this time.

Results have been straight forward wrt to both Lain and Rag. I assumed I am the insane cop, but Zinger flipping seems to indicate otherwise. And Amber had a red result first night so that has to make her the paranoid.

These games are hardly anything resembling normal. They're more an exercise in undermining how solved they are. That's more on the mod though.

zinger must be insane, which makes KoD scum.

if KoD is town, then his result must have been inverted on either night 1 or night 3, and zinger's result must have been inverted on either night 2 or on all 3 nights.

if KoD was inverted on n1 he would be paranoid
if zinger was inverted on night 2 he would be paranoid.
amber would then be insane, and i would be sane, with inverted results on both night 3 and 4.

it seems more likely that whoever is scum did not tamper with a result on n3 as they likely forgot to submit actions. I can't see a method to explain KoD being town while inverting one action on n1,2, and 4, which would suggest that KoD is scum. if anyone else sees a way to make it work let me know otherwise i will probably vote KoD.
