I gave a hard pushback on DEI to my first last month and told them how to do it right if they REALLY believe in it. You can't fix it in a workplace, it's too late. You gotta fix it in communities and schools. That's the only spot. So we did a job shadowing day with a bunch of students and that was a really good result. That stuff makes a difference.

It wasn't bad at all, but I live in the north side of my county and the town's population is under 15K. What I did notice is that for some of the races compared to where I used to live, it was the republicans running unopposed instead of the Dems. I have been recently seeing stuff on face book along the lines of "We can out weigh the major population center so vote R". I live in new mexico and have moved to the middle of the Permian Basin as for as this state is concerned. The last time we were a battleground state I think was '04.

WSJ has Harris losing this race currently, and I don't know man... I need a job in Canada, lol.

People are voting for Trump knowing that his former staff members are accusing him of idolizing the loyalty of Hitler's generals, and I don't even know what to think at this point. Are people stupid, or is this intentional? Did the liberals push the right so far that they would rather a dictator, than, for example, further BS like DEI and Affirmative Action? Because none of this makes sense to me. The Republicans are supposed to hate people like Putin. Electing his obvious puppet just seems out of character for them. Similarly, very few of them are racists, so why are they getting energized by racist propaganda, like immigrants eating dogs and cats? They can't believe in his economic policies, he doesn't have anything other than hurr durr we're going to put tariffs on everything we USED to make in this country. It's not like we're going to start making those things again, no matter how many tariffs he forces US consumers to pay; those jobs are gone. Nobody, and I mean nobody, who works for large finance providers are going to fund the kind of manufacturing he wants to protect here.

The Democrats can't even ensure the labor-union vote. Liberals are the only reason labor unions are allowed to exist, and Kamala can't even convince them to vote her way. I'm anti-union, so on some level I hope they get their comeuppance, but give me a break.

To some degree I think the media holds responsibility here. I mean just google “Trump McDonalds” and see the way that perfectly normal campaign trail photo op was reported on. I remember the last time he was president (pre pandemic) walking by the lobby TV at work and catching a Very Serious segment on CNN talking about how he eats pizza Wrong. *I* started to tune it all out at a certain point, so easy for me to imagine how people who support him reacted to it all.

Dude had 4 years. I don't remember any improvement to America. He wasn't even able to get people to call Covid-19 the Wuhan Virus, ffs. And that is the name it SHOULD have been called.

Did he stop America's tumble into DEI? no.
Did he stop or meaningfully slow down our transition away from oil and gas? no.
Did he stop our wasteful spending on things like EVs? Not only no, he's basically Elon Musk's best friend now.
Did he keep manufacturing jobs from leaving? no. Oh, and btw, Detroit auto workers might want to take a look at that last point... **** idiots.
Did he build a wall? no.
Did he force Europe to respect America more? no.
Did he force Nato countries to pay more money? not really.
Did he do anything about China? no.
Like, what did he actually do? not much, other than piss people off.
