Thanks! :)

Yeah sorry if that story is no good but that’s pretty dramatic for a 120$ casual tournament plus it literally involved the veiled threat of punch in face after you just mentionned it. Too funny

Your driving video was admittedly better than that story. The fact that it spun you out too lol. All that’s missing is your live audio reaction. what usually happens?

A bunch of people jump right into chat and @ the person who wrecked them and call them a trash driver. I find that wastes time and energy and rarely resolves anything.

I just cuss and holler for a few seconds and then get on with my race. Most races are 10-12 minutes. This race is 30 minutes plus a 10 minute Qualifier so I **** rage quit the race. Waste of my **** time.

Instead I spent that time watching one of the top 50 players in the world do a few laps on Medium tyres and a few on Hard tyres and then I went out and ticked off 16 laps of my own. It payed off because I dropped 4 of the best laps I've ever had on that track in my next race and came in 2nd Place.

BTW, it was the white BMW that spun me out when he rear ended me. Not his fault though, I was on the race line on a corner exit and he had no way to react that quickly.

Oh man Irish girls rugby beat the kiwis which is an insane upset. I would die if I ran into those teams in the local pub that night. A bunch of cute young women speaking in my two favourite accents in the world. I would just die

Regarding the FPÖ and AfD, there are legitimate concerns about racism, homophobia, and transphobia. Both parties have members who have made openly racist and xenophobic statements, and their platforms often include anti-immigrant policies that disproportionately target specific groups. There’s a difference between accusations and reality, and in this case, many of these concerns are backed by documented statements and actions. They may deny these labels, but their policies and rhetoric often tell a different story.
A good example is Björn Höcke (Leader of Alternative for Germany in Thuringia) whom can legally be described as a "fascist," and has twice been convicted of using banned Nazi slogans.

I don't know anything about anyone doing that.

Afaik Germany shut down nuclear, but not coal (just reduced it).

While this transition has led to an increased dependency on natural gas in the past, the recent reduction in gas usage indicates a further move towards sustainable energy sources. This transition may have short-term costs, but it aligns with Germany's long-term environmental goals.

When it comes to cost-of-living issues, I agree that price increases hurt average people. But here in Europe, conservative parties often push for policies that benefit corporations and the wealthy, which can further widen the gap for everyone else.
And regarding electricity costs, one example in Austria is that energy prices in Austria, like much of Europe, surged significantly after the COVID-19 pandemic and particularly following Russia's invasion of Ukraine. However, the Austrian states governed by Social Democrats have implemented the most notable measures to reduce costs for consumers.

People will often vote based on what they feel impacts them directly, and everyone’s experience is valid. However, from a European perspective, both Republicans and Democrats are generally viewed as right-leaning parties. In Europe, there’s a stronger emphasis on social welfare, environmental policies, and broader social safety nets. My perspective is that economic policy needs to be balanced with social policy, especially when it affects issues like equality and the environment, to address not just immediate economic needs but also long-term societal well-being.

I doubt I'll ever race for Alfa. That doesn't get you the 155 and beside I already have had that amazing car for quite a while. Dragon Tail... RCZ is my goto there. You can literally throw it into the corners and it has a great straight line speed.
Last night I put up a video of my British alter ego finishing 2nd at DRC. Dude in third says I cheat. I dare you to find where.
Hmmm. I shut down the PS4 before it uploaded. I'll get it up after work and share it here.

Looks great but it also shows that Europe produced more energy in 2010 than today... that is a very big problem, about the same happens here, and of course the solution is not going back, but supplement the conversion in a way that you keep increasing the energy production before you shut down power plants.
Also developed countries contaminated their way into development, that path is closed for developing economies now, and that is total BS.

@Cucho and Darkstar...

Germany et al. (including the US, btw) are all moving their heavy manufacturing (meaning the parts of their economy that really care about cheap electricity) to other parts of the world, namely Asia, which use a huge amount of coal.

This is both on purpose, and caused by their shift to higher cost generation.

@Darkstar... I'm going to push back on everybody knows the new sources will be more expensive. That is not how they are being sold, so I'd bet most people, including large-scale investors, don't know. Moreover, if you look up the leading companies talking about these things: for example Lazard... they all claim renewables are cheaper. It's BS, but that's what they claim. I say it's BS because, well, for one, look at Germany, and, for another (albeit less dramatic), look at Texas.

Yeah, Austria doesn't do the whole let's-pretend-these-slopes-are-hard thing that you get in the US. If you are skying on a black in Austria, it's a real black lol.

I think my rule of thumb was: Red in Europe = black in the US.

That's probably where the participation trophy thing started, or at least where I first noticed it.

"oh, what's this blinking thing?"

"dast ist peeper"

"oh, what's that for?"

"if avalanche, we find u. Hopeful fast"

That's an awesome story, lol!

Reminds of similar things I was told before doing some class 5 rapids in rafts.

Good times.

and I'm in a ski school with like a half dozen others, including two total chicks, and i'm the only one that is anglophone, they're all speaking german or whatever to each other. So once the guy says that to me, they all burst out laughing. And then we go off-piste and my heart is like down in my ski boots somewhere.

--

also, skiing in Austria RUINED skiing for me over here, cuz it's incredible over there. It's beautiful, you go up 2-3 lifts and can basically ski all day once you're at the summit. you look down, and plan your day, "let's ski down there, and have kaffe, and then maybe we can go down that way to eventually have lunch later, and then..."

And then 2-3 seasons of intense ski school over there totally brought up my game that my friends didn't want to ski with me back home anymore cuz i would just whip down hills, diamonds, double diamonds so much that the gap was too much. They felt bad holding me back (but I didn't care, the only reason i ski with my friends is to watch them fall and then spray them with snow while they're trying to get back up). My last bumble date before I met Jess was this thai girl who wanted to go skiing. I'm like, 'awesome" and then soon enough she is like, "i feel kind of intimidated by your level, i can't do that stuff" lol, oh NO. Stupid Austria.

But besides the level problem (which isn't a problem), skiing over here SUCKS. It's super cold, it's super icy, it's super expensive, and you wait forever in lines to go up and then you're instantly back at the bottom in line again, freezing your balls off.

I'm told that it's amazing out west, and as good as the Alps but it's so expensive out there (West) that I can go to Austria for the same price and ski there.

anyway, I regret not getting Emily into it cuz it would have been a fun activity to do together. Jess doesn't ski either so maybe it's a discovery thing for the 3 of us in the future one day

Nice, I was a good skier too, but probably not that good.

Some of the best memories of my youth happened while skiing.

it's literally the ONLY sport I can do well. If I had kept up my tennis, I might have been decent in that but it fell off HARD lol.

Skiing is so much fun, and I like winter lots to begin with

Where I live there is arguably the best skiing place in Chile, and we have like 4.000k of non stop mountains, so thats saying something, the ones in Santiago are fancier sure but the hills are crap... I was very good at skiing, for a reason too long to explain, when I was about 12-13Y and for about 3 years I had a FREE seasonal ticket for me and my brother so all we had to do was to get there... so we ended up skiing most of the winter, I´m not the fanciest skiing, but can go super fast, and loved to jump, not tricks or anything but jumping is not for beginners, it was amazing, I could sprint the resort taking the longest path in about 30 mins and thats a lot coz you can go super fast, on EZ mode watching the view you could take 2 hours or so... many times you find yourself completely alone in the mountain... the ground base track is on this deep forest so when it snows the trees get covered in snow and the view is just amazing.... in autumn the forest turns red and yellow... I loved skiing, but I havent skied in about 10 years... I used to focus so sharp that I felt I entered the zone while skiing... loved that ****.

So if we gather in Chile we could all go skiing 1313 and when DJ falls we spray snow in his smug abacus face.

PS: There used to be a Casino there and of course thermal waters coz volcanoes. The casino bakrupt LULS
