For the sacrifice to trigger, the creature needs to be under the control of the aura's controller first. That is intentional. It can be set-up one turn early before playing a fattie to gain control of the creature.

I don't view the type line as an intrinsic part of the persuasion archetype.

technically the criteria specified gold, not just multicolored, so hybrid doesn't count.



PS: Knifethrower, if you're reading this I think yours is close enough to the spirit of the challenge, since it still requires you to access both colors in order to get the mind control effect even if the card wouldn't be printed in a gold frame. hybrid, however, is different enough that I don't think it's fair to other entrants.
