ok let's go with make a card that gives away information as a drawback. it can be any information you want as long, but the giving of information should be central to the drawback's design, not incidental to the card's functionality. (like, say, fabricate, where the reveal is technically a drawback over diabolic tutor but is mostly there to confirm that you didn't cheat.)

unsure what the cost/stats should be for such a double edged card, but I think the ability is enough of a net upside for the stats to be slightly below the mana curve.

Exile any number of target nontoken creatures you control face-down, then cloak those cards tapped. As long as those creatures are face-down, they gain "when this creature blocks, becomes blocked, or attacks and isn't blocked, turn it face-up."

The drawback is that the creatures get un-hidden once they do combat.

Search your library for a card and exile it with a number of time counters equal to its mana value, then shuffle. If gains suspend if it doesn't have it. (At the beginning of your upkeep, remove a time counter from that card. When the last is removed, you may play it without paying its mana cost.)

I'm wondering about maybe letting opponents (and only opponents) look at the top card of your library. Or maybe "other players" - is it fun to have neutral/ally players in on it? Not sure exactly what design the drawback ties into though. Maybe some sort of you can play this off your library, but maybe won't work/ costs an unknown amount of life? A little blunt, but not much else really ties in. Maybe some weird counterbalance effect for guessing games?
