cute! make a card that uses an out-of-color condition to achieve an on-color effect. like, in this case, messing with creatures that have taken damage is largely the domain of black and occasionally red, but here it's used on a blue card to facilitate blue's bounce mechanic. you get the idea.

Might come up with a less superfluous off-color mechanic to work with since all colors are technically capable of causing loss of life through combat damage, but black is more known for doing it to themself so to get both effects in a meaningful way, there needs to be life loss before the combat step.

Realm of Despair

Over each horizon, explorers found the same thing: more emptiness.

I figured this would get overly oppressive in multiples. Legendary would be the more modern fix but the symmetrical design is reminiscent of old Enchant World cards so I figured now was the time to pull out the World supertype.

The "Whose turn it isn't" wording (rather than having it force a discard on each of the opponents of the land's controller, which will usually mean the same thing) is to avoid the problem of instant-speed discard when combined with fetchlands. Technically it's still "instant" but since you can't discard a player in their own draw step, it matters much less.

Torch of Soul deals 2 damage to each creature and player. If you gained life this turn, it deals 4 damage to each creature and player instead.
The flames were the last thing to die.

Actually, if I go to scryfall's website and search "tarmogoyf", the tarmogoyf returned is the Time Spiral Remastered version first and foremost -- the most recent canonical print. I don't know why the autocard implemented with Scryfall doesn't do what its own native search engine does.
