Sixty, LOL I couldn't stop laughing

DJ, I think it's safer to go to high school. I believe the stats on high school drivers are really dismal (the insurance premiums alone....)

Where's the latest shooting? I don't even want to look. Emily had her first day of her last year of middle school today. One more year until high school. I think her mom might move her to a much more urban setting, into a much better school, with wealthier families and such. She's in a rural area now. I have no idea which is safer although i would assume the bigger town, wealthier area has GOT to be much safer.

It is ongoing in Winder, Georgia... Looks, from the map, like it's a detached suburb of Atlanta.

I don't think rich/poor has much to do with mass shooters (and I especially don't think urban reduces the likelihood), but it's certainly related if you are worried about targeted shooters - meaning things like gang violence. Better school is always better, whenever possible.

Yeah I think her mom might be moving to the second best school
In the region, which would be great. Emily will be devastated to change schools and be away from her friends but overall it’s better for her future

Is it easier access to guns, or a greater number of guns in the country? Is it our cultural acceptance of bullying? Maybe it's the snowball effect you (DJ) have mentioned in the past... maybe it's because we publicize it so much. Slap it on the front page and run it on 15 TV channels as BREAKING NEWS for a week or two. Release a "manifesto" after the public outcry of "we deserve to know why" bull ****.

It's probably a combination of all of those things and some things I'm forgetting/am blind to.

When my kids moved in with me they didn't like the new school but found friends quickly and years later realized it was the best thing that happened to them. Well, changing schools and moving away from their mother/step-dad combined were the best things for them.

what an image. Do they even need the mention of USA in the headline or the American flag in the shot to 100% know this is in the States? It's a school shooting and every single vehicle in the shot, except for the ambulance, is a SUV.

But yeah, having the American flag flying at full mast right in the middle of all of that tragedy and chaos... it just makes the picture really eerie and very impactful (to me, anyway).

I still am actively avoiding reading anything about it. Dead kids is not a fun thing to digest.

Speaking of which, my targetted Youtube ads have become very interesting. MOST of them are Kamala or Obama asking for donations. TWO times though a Trump political ad came up, and the tone of his ads are astonishingly different. He's immediately says that elite rich liberals are anti-american and ruining our country. It's crazy.

I also had one democratic political ad that opens with the father of one of the Sandy Hook dead elementary school children. I couldn't skip that ad fast enough.

Maybe I'll rewatch Black Phone tonight. That's fictional murdered children and at least it's fun.

It's a combination of the things you mentioned and some just being crazy or snapping with no real reason. For example "I don't like Mondays. This livens up the day." was given as the reason why Brenda Spencer did her school shooting.

This upcoming Netflix movie, Rebel Ridge, looks really good.

You know all those revenge movies where it’s a retired, highly training ex-military killer who ends up getting wronged by really bad guys? Taken, Equalizer, etc. Tons of these movies exist.

Now what if, like in Equalizer, it’s a black ex-military guy, but instead of getting wronged by kidnapers or mafia, he simply ends up getting business-as-usual wronged by police offices south of the Mason-Dixie line?

Oh boyyyyyyy… that’s Rebel Ridge. Very gutsy movie to make. I’m excited to see it

Just saw Beekeeper. It's soooooooo bad. Bad guys are bad. I can't believe I'm saying this but even Jeremy Irons was bad. Stathem is bad. The plot is bad. Movie sucks.

Yeah that one is the exact type of movie I was describing above but it’s really pushing the limit of believability. Also they made the bad guys insanely douchey and bad

That’s why this upcoming Netflix flick looks so good. It’s just normal southern cops being racist. They’re not fictional demons, they’re normal existing everyday Americans. Excited to see it

I'm doing a little GT7 right now. Remembered why I quit. It was a weird penalty system where break checking on the straight, causing someone to rear end you, gave them a penalty. It tanked my Safety Rating (SR) to B tier.

Getting back into I thought I could organically get my SR back to S. Not in a lobby full of people with B ranked SR. Those guys are crazy, and they think I'm one of them.

Example; this driver has a 1 Bar internet connection so his car is teleporting left and right while driving forward. Typical bad internet connection, but it makes it hard to pass safely because I don't know exactly where his car is. It doesn't help he's a squirrelly driver. So of course contact happens as I pass despite my best effort. Next 4 laps the guy decides were rivals on the Hattfield and McCoy level. Guy tries to kill me 3 times.

So the solution is to drop back at beginning of race and drive from the back of the pack so as to avoid contact. I'll get a Clean Race bonus and my SR soars back to A/S ranking. That's what I did in this race. Problem was, these guys are so bad at racing I'd have to stop and wait for them to stay ahead of me, so I had to some overtaking... still got the clean race bonus and my SR is A now.

I saw you laid down a time at Sardegna. Good to see you back. I suggest racing lobbies instead of dailies. I'm part of a very clean racing league and we host lobbies pretty much every day after work. Most of the time it's winner chooses venue and car. Sometimes it's the Wheel of Misfortune that chooses. I'm with Beehive Racing. Brigsbee has been around a while now. He's one of Rory and Tigney's mods. McNaughty is also starting another season of the NRL. Paid tournament covering multiple weeks of racing road and race cars at random places. Great fun and you don't need to worry about the stupid penalty system.

man, that's a pathetically low number considering the SW fanbase. It's basically undisputable proof that cancelling was correct

I don't know if it is, tbh. I think the fan base is shrinking. So perhaps, at this point, that's actually enough. lol

I can't believe they managed to take me from always going to watch every single Star Wars project, no matter what, to not even aware and don't care about new Star Wars projects in just 9 years. I suppose I've aged in that period, and become a bit more cynical, but it's still an amazing fall from my grace.

I don't think I'm unique in this. They completely lost me with their marketing, and I don't see them ever getting me back.

yeah, they threw a lot at the fan/wall to see what sticks. So it numbs you out on new material. This is normal, and it's not necessarily an error on their part. They are monetizing the brand/franchise and i imagine it's working. They didn't pay Lucas 4 billion for nothing.

Because of the quality of Andor alone, i'm certainly interesting/intrigued by new stuff, but i avoid the animated stuff completely. I really think Rogue One / Mando / Andor are the best the franchise has had to offer since Empire Strikes Back and all three of those are VERY recent.

That's probably too involved and too scheduled for me. I'm in school right now, so I might have time to do a race or two here and there. I'd hate to be scheduled to race and be half way thru a lesson and have to decide between the two.

Honestly I'm just killing time waiting for my BloodBowl interest to peak again and Civ 7 to come out in Feb (Aug if we've learned anything from Take2).

Hope that you post Civ 7 impressions / gameplay / commentary. I'd be really interested in that.
