Right after I dropped out of HS as a Junior my Jazz band, and concert Brass section director (also a member of my church) had been sleeping with the female Trombone player that was always 1 seat ahead of me.

No, no… junior would be 17 typically, and 16 at a minimum (unless she’s some kind of genius).

I graduated high school at 17 but I was almost the youngest in my class. Most people were turning 19 that year.

Oh, yeah that hits different then. When I was in grade 11 EVERYONE (except me) was having sex. Parties had everyone hooking up. Super sexually active age. I think I was 16 in grade 11. That’s the age of consent in most jurisdictions.

In the US, the age of consent is often 17, and 18 otherwise (there might be an exception or two, in some random states). I’ll look it up, if I can find it.

I know 16 seems young but I remember everyone hooking up constantly when I was 16. I was very aware I wasn’t having the same experience and was happy for my best friend sleeping with two of the girls I was crushing on lol. Poor Barney. A year later I caught up.

lol aren’t the sub 18 consent years limited to a narrow age range of partner tho (aka +/- 4 years)? Like instances where an 18 yo sleeping with a 16 yo is ok but 22 + 16 isn’t? Maybe that varies too tho…

Sub 18s in peer range sleeping together is no big deal imo. Like obviously concern re: pregnancy and STD but morally fine. And there’s grey area tbs in the 17-22ish range. But a 25+ yo teacher sleeping with a 16- yo kid is bad and indicative of psycological issues in the adult

Even if the 16 yo kids want to bang the eff out of his teacher (and I had a teacher in HS I totally would have if she ever came on to me), the teacher needs to Do Better like Jesus Christ 16 yo’s are retarded

But yes, up here at least there’s a 3 year range for sub 18. Even tho 16 is constant, a 20 yr old (or older) can’t. It’s sweet sweet statutory in that case.

I know it’s not ok in CA. I have a friend here who spent ~2 years on house arrest for sleeping with a girl who told everyone in their friend group (all 18/19 yos) she was 18 when really 17 and her parents found out they were hooking up

I am reasonably certain that all of the current posters in this thread are adults, but the readers of this thread could be minors and I have to assume that they are.
