i'm like down a drink a month now (at MOST). It's really pathetic. I just don't enjoy it at all. I've got a nice fancy bottle of scotch at home and I never touch it.

the big test will be in September when i go back to poker and/or when I face a really stressful event alone. Jess says I should just take a drink in those moments when i think I want a smoke. I think it's a good idea.

Disclaimer: I'm an Atheist, but I have a deep religious eduction, with many years in Catholic schools during which I was required to study catholic beliefs, etc.

i have the same background as DJ! Went to catholic schools and came out an atheist. Jess' mom take on that: "well, if he's an atheist, he should just convert to Judaism cuz what does he care anyway?"

To which I responded, "oh she wants her daughter dating a liar with no morals or integrity? That's less important than being jewish on paper?" lol. And yeah, it's been cold since. Ah well.

I have a friend who still shares Far Side jokes with me, as if they are still new. And I'm all for it.

I don't know if it really deserves the reputation it has, but it's definitely great.

for some Christians being a drag queen goes against what they feel is God's stance on the whole male/female issue. And the last supper since it depicts Christ it is considered sacred and many don't mind the other "actual" parodies like the BSG example. So it's a two for one deal. If it hadn't been drag queens and instead been done with any one else or a different painting it would have just been met with a shrug and move on.

At least that's my understanding. I'll note that I'm Christian and don't find it upsetting. But others do.
