Alara's Rejoining

Enchantment (M)
At the beginning of your upkeep, search your library for a basic land card that doesn't share a type with another basic land you control, put it onto the battlefield, then shuffle. Then if there are five or more land types among basic lands you control, sacrifice Alara's Rejoining and create a Fusion Elemental token. (It's a 8/8 Elemental creature.)

The new technology of creating a token of an existing card, a la Ral and the Implicit Maze, is pretty cool! I think the key is to have the cards you choose be relatively simple so the environment and gameplay doesn't get too convoluted. In this case, a vanilla 8/8 token doesn't add much mental tax, but making the token a specific card instead of a generic one adds some fun flavor.

I always think it's funny in a piece of media where a character gets swallowed by a giant beast of some kind and they find a lot of random crap in its stomach, like a TV or a Volkswagen Beetle.

Gullethoard Wurm

Creature -- Wurm (M)
Trample
When Gullethoard Wurm dies, create three Clue tokens, three Food tokens, and three Treasure tokens.
Its vast stomach also acts as cemetery, larder, and vault.

Banging Down the Door

I really enjoy Modern Horizons sets. As a longtime player and designer, I really appreciate the returning mechanics, callbacks to older sets, and higher complexity that these sets bring. I'm a Vorthos/Melvin at heart. So for fun, I've been designing cards for my own Modern Horizons set. My average design is kind of Modern Horizon-y to begin with, so why not?

I'm going to share quite a few of these cards, starting with a kitty cat!

Champion of the Pride

Creature -- Cat Soldier (R)
When this creature enters, you gain X life.
Whenever you gain life, you may put that many +1/+1 counters on this creature. Do this only once each turn.
"When the pride prospers, we all prosper."
—Jazal Goldmane

I assigned each color pair a fairly broad archetype that I could design a variety of different cards for. Blue/Green has a proliferate theme, but I wanted most of the cards to still make sense and play well in a vacuum. Here's some of what I got.

Oculus Observer

Creature -- Phyrexian Homunculus (C)
This creature enters with an eye counter on it.
Whenever this creature dies, draw a card for each eye counter on it.
What it sees, Jin-Gitaxias knows.
2/2

Guided Growth

Sorcery (C)
Search your library for a basic land card, put it onto the battlefield, then shuffle. Proliferate.
"You can't stop things from growing, but you can instruct them how to grow."
—Oviya Pashiri, sage lifecrafter

Netcaster

Creature -- Merfolk Pirate (C)
Netcaster enters with two net counters on it.
, Remove a net counter from Netcaster: Tap target creature.
"Ironic? I don't know about that, but I know that it's fun."
2/1

Swift Sedation

Instant (C)
Replicate
Tap target creature and put a stun counter on it.
“Gigapes are highly endangered. If the worst happens and you can’t pacify it harmlessly, you let it rip you limb from limb."
—Ven Diorlus, menagerie keeper

Serum Repository

Artifact (C)
At the beginning of your upkeep, put a serum counter on Serum Repository.
, , Sacrifice Serum Repository: Draw three cards. This ability costs less to activate for each serum counter on Serum Repository.

Nivix Stormdrake

Artifact Creature -- Drake (U)
Flying
Nivix Stormdrake enters with a +1/+1 counter on it.
Whenever you cast an instant or sorcery spell, proliferate. This ability triggers only once each turn.
"The chassis is complete. Now we just need to wait for the next passing thunderstorm."
—Zataz, Izzet clockwork artificer

1/1

Return to Roots

Sorcery (U)
Choose two. You may choose the same mode more than once.
• Destroy target artifact.
• Destroy target enchantment.
• Proliferate.
• Exile target player's graveyard.

Divert Energy

Instant (U)
Counter target spell. Proliferate. (Choose any number of permanents and/or players, then give each another counter of each kind already there.)
"Your spell is going to do a lot of good. Just not in the way you expected."

Cyclical Emergence

Enchantment (U)
When Cyclical Emergence enters, create two 1/1 blue and green Insect creature tokens with flying.
At the beginning of your upkeep, put a brood counter on Cyclical Emergence. Then if it has three or more brood counters on it, remove them and create two 1/1 blue and green Insect creature tokens with flying.

Uncontrolled Experiment

Creature -- Ooze (R)
At the beginning of combat on your turn, put a +1/+1 counter on target creature you control without a +1/+1 counter on it. If you can't, proliferate.
"Splicing procedures worked as intended. Containment procedures, less so."
—Yolov, Simic bioengineer

2/2

Note: For a while, some of my cards will be using wording current as of Bloomburrow and others will be using slightly older language. It depends on when I created the card render; I refuse to go back and alter every old render whenever WoTC figures out a better way to word something.

Black/green is all about -- you guessed it -- the graveyard! It's a played-out theme, I know, but it's broad enough to allow a lot of room to play and to give it overlap with other mechanics.

Fungal Creeper

Creature – Fungus (C)
When Fungal Creeper enters, you may search your library for any number of cards named ~, put them into your graveyard, then shuffle.
Scavenge (, Exile this card from your graveyard: Put a number of +1/+1 counters equal to this card’s power on target creature. Scavenge only as a sorcery.)
1/1

Stitcher’s Discovery

Sorcery (C)
As an additional cost to cast this spell, exile three creature cards from your graveyard.
Draw three cards.
Cycling
When you cycle Stitcher’s Discovery, mill three cards.

Krunstraz Vanguard

Creature – Insect Warrior (C)
Unearth (: Return this card from your graveyard to the battlefield. It gains haste. Exile it at the beginning of the next end step or if it would leave the battlefield. Unearth only as a sorcery.)
"We are many. Many is strong."
3/1

Sewer Slitherer

Creature – Snake (C)
Deathtouch
When Sewer Slitherer enters, mill three cards.
Below the streets of Nephalia, it found a home with perfectly-shaped passageways and all the rats it can eat.
1/1

Blooming Florasaur

Creature – Plant Dinosaur (C)
Basic landcycling (, Discard this card: Search your library for a basic land card, reveal it, put it into your hand, then shuffle.)
Retrace (You may cast this card from your graveyard by discarding a land card as an additional cost to cast it.)
6/4

Bogtopus

Creature – Octopus (C)
When Bogtopus enters, surveil 3. (Look at the top three cards of your library, then put any number of them into your graveyard and the rest on top of your library in any order.)
Its tentacles sweep below the muck, dredging up forgotten treasures or tasty treats.
3/4

Ichorid Spawn

Creature – Horror (U)
You may cast this spell from your graveyard.
Haste
Ichorid Spawn enters with a finality counter on it.
"Participation in the cycle of life and death isn't always mandatory."
—Cabal Patriarch

3/1

Mortuary Thrull

Creature – Thrull (U)
Deathtouch
Scavenge (, Exile this card from your graveyard: Put a number of +1/+1 counters equal to this card’s power on target creature. Scavenge only as a sorcery.)
When you scavenge Mortuary Thrull, put a deathtouch counter on the targeted creature.
1/3

Savage Forcemage

Creature – Elf Shaman (U)
Creatures you control that entered this turn get +2/+2.
Unearth (: Return this card from your graveyard to the battlefield. It gains haste. Exile it at the beginning of the next end step or if it would leave the battlefield. Unearth only as a sorcery.)
2/3

Dragged into Shadows

Instant (U)
Undergrowth — Mill X cards. When you do, target creature gets -X/-X until end of turn, where X is the number of creature cards in your graveyard.
"Walk quickly now and don't stop, even if you feel a tug at your sleeve."
—Grandmother Baga

Dessicated Anurid

Creature – Zombie Frog Beast (U)
When this creature enters, mill four cards.
Whenever one or more cards leave your graveyard, each opponent loses 1 life and you gain 1 life.
It dines on the endless banquet of insects lured in by its stench.
4/4

Relentless Pursuit

Sorcery (U)
Choose one —
• Return target creature card from your graveyard to your hand.
• Reveal a creature card from your hand. When you do, ~ deals damage equal to that card's power to target creature or planeswalker.
Entwine

Fungal Goliath

Creature – Fungus (R)
Undergrowth – Fungal Goliath enters with a +1/+1 counter on it for each creature card in your graveyard.
When Fungal Goliath dies, you may exile two creature cards from your graveyard. If you do, return Fungal Goliath to the battlefield tapped.
0/0

The Headless Hunt

Enchantment – Saga (R)
[I, II] Each player sacrifices a creature.
[III] Create The Dusk Rider, a legendary 4/4 black Zombie creature token with "Whenever this attacks, exile a creature card from a graveyard. If you do, you may have this become a copy of that creature until end of turn."

“It’s impossible to frown with a mouth full of my cooking.”

The myr thought of themselves as the last remnants of what Mirrodin once was.

Glorious Phyresis

Enchantment – Aura (U)

Despite it not being exactly the same, this is pretty much a Pongify or Beast Within variant. White's been getting the "destroy your thing but here's a consolation prize" cards recently -- see Bovine Intervention, Get Lost and Stroke of Midnight.

It could be argued it's more of a Polymorph variant, and I see that point as well. I honestly think it could go either way.

Preferred Pronoun Set: he/him
I was going to say it feels like Birthing Pod or Chord of Calling. If it targeted your opponents' creatures I think there's an argument for white.
