Dawn rises on a bright new Day over the Kingdom of Dominaria. The sun is shining, the rain has broken, and a rainbow fills the sky with brilliant colorful hues. The people are rising from their beds, the birds are chirping, and Ragnarokio's corpse is shambling through the city streets.

A shill scream breaks the silence as the citizens of Dominaria lay their eyes upon the living dead.

Ragnarokio has returned as a Zombie!

As people scramble to get their torches and pitchforks, the corpse throws up its hands and speaks in Rag's voice!

"My friends, don't fear me! I know my appearance is quite distressing, but trust me when I say I am the least of your worries. KoD has returned, and now he is an immortal Lich, more powerful than ever! He has given me life, or... Rather... Some facsimile of it... So that I may return here to tell you all that he is risen from the dead, and seeks to reclaim his throne. I have been instructed to warn you that any who bow to him will be spared, but those who resist will become the first casualties to suffer at the hands of the immortal Lich King of Dominaria! I'm sorry to have to be the one to tell you all this... But alas, I am under the influence of his dark magic, and if you resist his takeover, you may well join me."

For a moment, the citizens of Dominaria appear to consider Rag's sage words.

Then that illusion is shattered when one of them shouts "Foul demon, we won't be swayed by your lies! Release the corpse of our dear friend that you have possessed and return to whatever hell you crawled out of, or you will suffer as none have before!"

Well... Can't say you didn't try to warn them...

My lonely friends. It has been such a long time since I last laid eyes upon you all. Oh, how I have terribly missed you all.

No. No, no no. That's not right. Friends don't rebel against their king. Friends stand by their king no matter what. Friends don't behead their one, true king (or, for that matter, crown a false king).





I am distraut. I've suffered these long years without you all. I agonized over what you lot did to me. Most of all, I hurt over my waifu's betrayal. To think my, and do not mistake things for the queen.. is.. mine, beloved would treat me so wrongly makes my silent heart bleed.

But fret not my "loyal" subjects. I have returned -- I have come back to where I belong to reclaim that which belongs to me. No one will stand in the way of my hegemony over my kingdom. This day marks the start of setting right that which was made wrong oh so long ago.

I'd dare say that prediction was suspiciously good, except we're not in the infoless joke D1 sans agency still.

Right now what we know is that somehow KoD has returned, and Rag is a zombie.

The first KoD Must Die was something of a puzzle game of working around the seeming invincibility of a known "scum". Filling out the situation, the Lynch wasn't even really a tool that Town had in that game. It was very nonstandard mafia, but it was still a logical game.

I'd presume, because Zinger is good at this game design stuff, that this game is similarly still a logical game with some degree of intentional balance. That's why it's not totally shocking that Rag returned and really not that shocking that KoD is here either: they were both on the player list from the start, so it makes sense that they should have a chance to win.

At the same time we, in theory, do have a lynch this game. If I read the rules in the OP right it's 100% up to Queenie whether a given day has a lynch or not, but presumably it's something that we want to do.

The rub is that KoD and Rag have been made fully open, which means that decent game design would suggest that hitting them would not be a pure solve. If the game were as easy as "Lynch KoD, Lynch Rag" that wouldn't be much fun for anybody.

There are three basic courses of action. One is to try for KoD, and probably with the whole general Zinger-Game rigamarole where if it doesn't take once we try it again in case immunity was one-shot, then if that doesn't take we try to get totality in case there's a threshold thing, and in the mean time we're burning days on something that MIGHT be necessary but might also be a pointless and wasteful shuffle.

Option two is to go for Rag, who's not the main big shot, just to try to clip wings. Less potential reward, but less risk of things failing outright.

Option three, we hunt for the actual solution. A solution we don't know for sure exists. This is similar to option one, except making normal lynches or holding fire (there might be a reason Queenie is given the opportunity to not have lynches occur) rather than just throwing everything at KoD

I guess option four is with KoD demanding people kneel we could have somebody test it to see if we can all kumbiyah as cult but I think the best case scenario of that is turning this scenario into Queenie Must Die which might or might not be actually better. I'm not brave enough to be the first to investigate.

my role pm implies that freeing me from KoD will be instrumental in defeating him although it does not really provide any hint as to how that might be possible

the name of the game is also KoD must die and so i might guess that trying to win with KoD is a fool's errand

but we also have KoD Loyalists still, or more accurately, people who want to kill the queen, on top of the zombie army rising.
I dont want to vehemently 100% trust anyone here and KoD is listening at all times.
well.... I ASSUME we can trust our queen. i dont know about the consort, though I suppose if Queenie is intent on marying them, then i guess they're fine

Rag is under KoD's "dark magic", her alignment is with KoD, I would suspect. If KoD did die, it might break the "spell" that is on Rag, thus possibly changing Rags alignment.

Any chance you'll reveal what your end goal is here? Just to make everyone undead or to kill everyone or kill specific people or something else?

Just want people to be fully informed on what they're bending the knee to or fighting against.

Welp, some more thoughts.

If KoD is using dark magic to control Rag and KoD himself has this dark magic himself, then maybe someone put that dark magic on him, so really, there is a bigger bad guy in command. I mean, we dont know how he came back, so it is possible that someone else brought him back.

I know this isnt a lot and it could be a coincidence but, when we were confirming that we understood our role, Storm responded with a "Condemned", with it being in a shade of purple, much like the purple that we are seeing the bad guys used in the little dialogue with Rags resurrection. Not enough to do anything but just something I noticed.

Also, it seem that a lot of players here are previous players from the first KoD must die game, so it has occurred to me that it might be possible that some roles might have rolled over to this game. I know that this would make the game un-funnified but just another thing thhat popped up in me brain. Anywho.....
