As 99% of the Archives need to be converted from .htm format (full web page) to a more forum-friendly format, I would like to know what others would like to see first. Because of another project in the Art, Flavor & Storylines forum, I've already uploaded the only Jakkard story I'm aware that we have, along with the dossier of the planeswalker in the story.

However, other than that, I don't know what other people would like to see from the M:EM, and without the foreknowledge uploading would be spotty and random.

So I ask of you all this: What sections of the Archives should I concentrate on uploading first? The choices I've given are ordered by the Archives' previous arrangement -Planes, Characters, Artifacts, Works, and Apocrypha- but with a few alterations.

Since we only have a single Artifact in the Archives, I didn't include that in the options.

The Works section is large enough that I've split the option in two:
Creative Canon for fan works that are either self-contained or built upon other M:EM works;
Expanded Canon for fan works based on Official material, like card-specific stories.

Please choose the Other option if you'd like me to focus on one of the Anthologies.

Personally, I'd like to do a build-up to the Alara Anthology, uploading the stories as they appeared in the completed Anthology before uploading the illustrated pdf file itself; so I went ahead and voted as such.

Damn, I feel like I should be able to answer this question, but I just can't.

My gut feeling says Creative Canon, but I'll have to think about this a bit more.

This is a really tough call. I feel what would pull people in the most and get them interested in the project is the works, but between Creative and Expanded, it's a tough call. I feel like Creative is more indicative of what we do, whereas Expanded is more likely to pique people's interest. So I guess ultimately I'll have to say Creative.

Hmm... I'm going to have to go with Creative Canon as well. Some of our best stuff falls under that, and I think it's important it gets uploaded ASAP so as to protect it from possible loss AND get the archives started with our best foot forward.

I'll vote for that.

I'm the solitary Planes vote, but I'd be happy with creative canon getting in first which seems to be what's happening anyway.

Also, I just realized that we can actually, like, run a poll for voting threads except wait we can't restrict it just to voting MEMbers nevermind thought rescinded

Well, I set the poll to run for two weeks, but it seems that the majority is leaning towards Creative Canon anyway, so I guess I can upload one or two of those to start with... When I set some time to, that is.

I don't see any method of either restricting who can vote or going in to the poll to see who voted, so unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any strict method of using polls for our voting things. At least if we could see who voted then we could eliminate non-voting M:EMbers.

After giving it some thought, I voted planes and here's why:

Ruwin's explanation for Creative Works makes sense. It gives people who want to read stories instant content. But while we'd love an audience, we are more about the creators than the public, and planes are one of the most accessible stuff you can create.

That was pretty much my reasoning as well, yeah.

If it helps, I should be uploading any connected entries after the work itself, just to keep things kind of... organized (is that the right word?).

For instance, if I started with the Molcru series, then after those (4? 5?) stories are up, I would upload Molcru's Dossier (and any planes he may have visited in those stories). That said, I'd probably start with the easier, self-contained ones first.

That makes sense. Also since people are more drawn to write characters of their own it gives them a good place to drop in a tie to the project more easily.

That said I'm feeling the urge to do another world building project.

Go ahead, though I've mentally tied my own hands on that front -- there are at least 3 planes I'm "working on" (hardyharhar) right now, and I'd like to have at least one polished up before helping someone on theirs.

Mainly I wanted to post to say I notice people changing their votes and that it doesn't seem so one-sided anymore.

If you can stomach the old boards at all, it would be cool if you helped Fakeartist with his world-building. He's put quite a lot into it, but needs more people around to help.

I go maybe once a day. I'll try to give it another look, but as I recall it didn't strike my inspiration.

I'm willing to start one up, since we need some creativity buzzing around in here. I was planning on doing it tomorrow, since I'm making my inauguration speech then, but I'll make a thread to bounce basic ideas in and make a proper thread tomorrow.
