All That Remains
We spend our lives acquiring in order to survive. But the crazy thing about this world is that you can’t take it with you and in the end, none of us survive. So what do we do? We bequeath that which remains to those that remain. The hope is that this will help them survive. But we’ve been over this before, none of us survive. We just continue bequeathing that which remains to those that remain. And that’s all this life is, simply all that remains.
This game is not a bastard game. All abilities will function as advertised. And flips will be accurate. But keep in mind that what once was there will be bequeathed to the living, so in death we are vanilla. At any point before your death you may state your will to the mod as to who you want to receive your role upon your death. You may change this as many times as you want until you die (you won’t be able to change it after deadline of the phase you die, or after a hammer is reached). If you do not set a will, one will be randomly determined for you.
When you receive a bequeathed role, those abilities will be added to your own. Abilities will tell you if they can be used in conjunction with any other abilities. If no restriction is stated, they are unrestricted. Note that this may cause unforeseen and probably balance swingy situations, just like real life! This is your only warning about balance so proceed at your own peril.
The Rules of this Life:1. Do not talk about this game outside of the thread if you do not have permission.
2. You may disclose the information in your role PM however you see fit, but keep in mind that each role PM has been individually crafted.
3. Do not edit, delete, post in hard to read colors, or post in a manner that's intentionally deceptive by it's appearance (for example, "invisitext" or coloring but not bolding a vote).
4. Do not post in the game thread after you have been killed. Not even a "bah I'm dead" post. Just because you're dead doesn't mean I don't have plans for you.
5. Please give notice of any absence that is going to exceed 48 hours. Your activity will be monitored by your presence in this game, either by posting in thread, in any secondary capacity your role might include, or pming me directly if you wish to make it known you're present without making it known you're present. Unannounced absences will have repercussions, be forewarned.
6. Votes and unvotes must be bolded and colored in a color contrasting from the rest of the post they are in. Meaning if you decide to post all your text in purple for the entirety of the game, a bolded purple vote that's hard to see will not be counted. Make it stand out people. All votes must be in the format Vote: Player Name. You must unvote to change your vote.
7. Once a majority vote has been reached, deadline will be adjusted to 12 hours from the current point. During this time votes may still be changed.
8. Once deadline is reached, the player with the most votes will be lynched.
9. In the event of a tie, all votes will be removed and a 24 hour run off will be held between all tied parties. Unvotes will be disallowed during this time. The player with the most votes at the end of the runoff will be lynched. If a tie still remains, random votes will be removed until there is no tie.
10. Be courteous of other players/observers/mods. And by this I mean on a personal level. Do not carry grudges into the game and be mindful of if an issue is striking a personal cord. Everybody is here to have fun, so mostly just don't do anything to try to undermine that or the games integrity.
11. Ask questions. I've done more than my fair share of mafia mentoring so don't be afraid to ask questions about your role or any mechanics in the game that you don't quite understand or might work differently than you think it does. If I can't answer a question because of the game integrity, I'll tell you as much and won't just leave you hanging. As the old saying goes, better safe than sorry. So ask questions.
