Yeah, my intention was for it to be something like dungeons or attractions. You'd start with a semi-random deck of quests and at the beginning of the game, you'd reveal the top three of them to form a "job board". Whenever a card allows you to accept a quest, you'd pick one of them and replace it on the board with the top card of your quest deck. Completing a quest puts it on the bottom of the quest deck.

Stoneforge Armorer

Creature -- Kor Artificer Ally (R)
When Stoneforge Armorer enters the battlefield, you may accept a quest. (If you do, abandon any other quests you have accepted.)
Whenever you complete a quest, you may search your library for an Equipment card, put it onto the battlefield attached to a creature you control, then shuffle.

To be fair, the original incarnation of quests in the original Zendikar block were enchantments, and we're probably only enchantments due to extra decks like Contraptions and Dungeons not being explored at all yet.

As an additional cost to cast this spell, sacrifice a creature.
Reveal cards from the top of your library until you reveal a creature card. Put that card onto the battlefield and the rest on the bottom of your library in random order. That creature gains haste and decayed.

Heroic — Whenever you cast a spell that targets enchanted creature, you may create a Royal Role token, a Mentor Role token (When enchanted creature attacks, put a +1/+1 counter on another attacking creature with lesser power.), or a Sorcerer Role token attached to enchanted creature.
