So, how's everyone hanging in there?
I've been engaging in... A bit too much retail therapy. Nothing enough that I'll miss the money at the moment, though my vacation might kinda suck come November.

As an aside, and awkwardly, we found my missing cat today. She... Still refuses to come anywhere near us, but I'm just surprised she's still alive.
So, I guess I have an outside cat now.
Otherwise, my kitten has been exceedingly bitey.

It's been a pretty substantial minute since we last heard from Luna, but I think I've figured out what I can send his way that will be special enough to justify sending him but won't cost me a hideous amount of money.

For some reason this meme exchange came to my mind this morning:

Quote:
Perrine: Tell me one thing that can't be resolved via hanging.
Elise, clearly horrified: Uh... A sibling fight?
Perrine: You're not even trying, are you.

Ha! Poor Elise...

Incidentally, I can think of a few things that can't be resolved via hanging:

1. Dealing with the Headless Horseman
2. Moving a Greek statue
3. Rope shortage (Admittedly, Our Dearest Perrine is creative enough that this one might not count...)
4. Too many paintings hanging on the wall
5. Battling a Gelatinous Cube

Busy, kinda tired/overwhelmed and certainly overheated, but interesting stuff is happening. I'll give an update when I have more spoons.

Thanks for the cat updates, by the way - bewildering as they may be, it's cool to hear them.

A friend of mine got a new job today and I didn't get fired.
How were your days?

I, also, did not get fired. It would be pretty hard for me to get fired since I don't have an employer, but still. Congrats on not getting fired in a presumably more competitive firing situation.

I have likewise not been fired. I assume. I guess I haven't checked my work email in something like a month, so maybe I have been...

I not only did not get fired, I had to turn down a job offer because I had already accepted a different offer before this one came in.

I very much know the feeling. Last year I was in the same position.
Even though you seem okay, don't hesitate to reach out buddy.

So... Barbie is a movie that is simultaneously extremely clever and also too stupid for it's own good.
There is a LOT of subtle commentary and themes in the movie, but it is utterly drowned in the clumsy ham handed attempt at the surface level commentary.
The sad fact is I have very little faith the majority of people will be able to get through the thick shell of blatant divisive and inflammatory rhetoric to understand the actual thesis of the piece.
Greta Gerwig is too smart a director to fail that badly, so the fault pretty much had to lay in the audience not picking up on it.

Oof, condolences.

I did promise, did I?

It looks like I didn't get fired either. Granted, I just started a stage into a technical office as part of a course that will earn me a CAD certification, so firing isn't exactly a likely event.

So, what's happening with me in no particular order:
-The summer heat is as usual making me burn energy/spoons at a much faster rate than normal and ruins my quality of sleep, which complicates everything listed below.
-My arm aches have been acting up, and I still have no idea why's that. I should make medical appointments to learn more and make them easier to deal with, but that requires time and energy.
-I've tried out pole dancing and I found it very fun, despite some... anatomical difficulties, but I had to drop it due to - you guessed it - arm problems.
-I've been attending the aforementioned CAD course, which I'm feeling pretty good about... except for the part when it makes my pains act up, which is ofc worrying if I'm to turn it into a career.
-I've put the videogame projects I had on hold, which is another can of worms I'm deciding not to think about too hard because there's all kinds of guilt and responsibility trash jammed up there.
-I found my bike with a flat tire for 5 times in, like, 6 weeks, and the details of the damage have been... bewildering to say the least. Whenever that happened and I didn't get to call in favors to get rides to places, I had to make like 45 min walks under the direct summer sun to get back home. Not fun.
-I'm part of 3 ttrpg campaings, each with its unique mixture of enjoyment, engagement and frustration. They take up an average of 2 days/evenings per week, which means quite a bit of free time (fine) and multiple hours of lost sleep due to post-game excitement (less fine).

In summary: rather busy, very tired, holding on as I wait for the worst of the metaphorical storm to pass.

I'm mostly losing sleep because of the baby. He is in a period of very inconsistent sleep (presumably because of teething), and it's wearing us out a little. We'll get through it, of course, but it's rough. Especially because his sisters don't really understand just how tired their parents are.

I'm moving next week. Things seem well in hand, but it's stressful. That's why you guys haven't been seeing a lot of me lately.

So, I sent off a care package to Luna just to stay in touch dice it's been a while.
I recall him saying that his computer had been acting up, so considering the prolonged absence, I think it might have finally had itself a come apart and that's why he's been incommunicado.
