It appears they are making a series of collector coins. Though to me they are more paper dollar sized than coin sized. When I read the headline I got excited. Then I saw the pictures. Not only starting with Jace, but there is no way you will want to be flipping this to decide some in game action.

Discuss.

I hope somebody buys enough of these to put them in circulation in new zealand because I assume that these are going to have the "legal tender" moniker added to them.

Nobody uses actual precious metals to buy things, that's just a waste.

I think they're neat. And its more a publicity stunt than anything. Advertising expense with the opportunity to recoup costs.

I'd buy one if it weren't obscenely expensive. Which it will be.

Silver's currently about 24-25 NZD/Oz. The coin is marked $2. So I'm guessing that if these get into circulation somehow they'll quickly be removed by the first, maybe second person they circulate to. :-P

Knowledge knows no bounds.

And so people say to me, "How do I know if a word is real?" You know, anyone who's read a children's book knows that love makes things real. If you love a word, use it! That makes it real. Being in the dictionary is an artificial distinction; it doesn't make the word any more real than any other word. If you love a word, it becomes real.

I am laughing at the idea of this coin with Jace Beleren on one side and Queen Elizabeth II on the other.

Which one is "Tails"?

According to that booklet, Jace.

New statistic: Jace, the Mind Sculptor coin to Jace, the Mind Sculptor card exchange rate.

If they make an old school Royal Assassin version I am not sure if I will be able to resist.

I kind of want my LGS to buy one just to have it as a random prize for a tournament some day. I mean, they did only mint 5,000 of them.

Foils are for plebs. I'm making my next standard deck entirely out of coins.
