I actually want to learn Bridge now; I just always assumed it involved more randomness like most standard playing card games.

I actually want to learn Bridge now; I just always assumed it involved more randomness like most standard playing card games.


it's got a steep learning curve but it is a brilliant game. I have been a fairly serious player for the last ~5 years or so

as for the randomness, it's true that if you just shuffle and deal then whoever gets the better cards is likely to be more successful, but the competitive form of the game is always played as "duplicate bridge", which means that the cards are dealt the same way at every table. in effect you are competing against the people who have the same cards as you, which makes it predominantly a game of skill, though certainly chance still plays a part

  • You may play that card until end of your next turn.
  • You may sacrifice a permanent that shares a type with that card and has mana value equal to or greater than that card's mana value minus one. If you do, put the exiled card onto the battlefield.
  • Put that card in your graveyard. Create a tapped Treasure token.

I, II - Tap up to X target permanents and put X stun counters on it, where X is the number of lore counters on Walt Disney's Frozen.
III - Remove any number of stun counters from any number of permanents. For each stun counter removed from a permanent, its controller draws a card.
