What I find interesting is two things first it explicitly says in your role that can’t be changed or copied by any ability in the game, which you changed anyway, definitely cheating, RAW. Secondly apparently you saw Tevish and I as enough of a threat to just start and end days when you felt like, then conveniently after we we’re dead there were no more shenanigans involving start and end of days, also definitely cheating.

Fine, let's get into the weeds and split hairs.


Both the Black Chaos Emerald and the Big Black Monster were not "in the game" at the game's conception. They were not part of the first game's design file (which this game was a carbon copy of), and were created and inserted into this game after the fact. The role Big Black Monster belonged to no player, and the Black Chaos Emerald was not built into any player's role, but rather, was given to me inside of a super secret special message which was a mechanic outside the default game's rules. Not "in the game". The Mafia equivalent of using Wish to grab a card you own from outside the game and play it. Not cheating, just bastard.

And as for the Day start/end thing, tough cookies. In the third post of the game I changed the duration of Night 0 on a whim because I was impatient, and in the fourth post of the game, I flat out stated the following:

You expected the Mod to play fair, but the very fact that the Mod was a player in her own game is not fair from the get-go, and is plainly stated as such in the opening post:

Despite how hard it was to win, it's not Monster's fault we lost. Everyone had a chance to depose Monster during the wagon-off between her and I; however, everyone made their choice which led to Monster inevitably being able to retain control.

There's no valid reason to react in this manner.

The losing is not the issue, the principle and integrity of the game is the issue.

While I agree that the game was more bastard than what was advertised, which was disappointing, it is hard to argue from a position of principle and integrity by using slurs and childish insults.

I want to be clear that the only thing I disagree with Mongoose about is the tone and choice of words. I have made it clear before that I loathe unexpected bastard elements, which is absolutely what this was.

Arguing about principles and integrity is inherently different from arguing about being childish or not wrt to insults/slurs.

Goose takes issue with Monster over "cheating". That's a serious accusation to make. One that lacks any concrete foundation to stand upon. Especially when Monster made it clear that she'd be playing in her own game as a mod and would take actions to make the game more favorable to her. Whether or not that translates into Monster flat out ignoring actions to avoid dying or the such is something that would have to be proven beyond shadow of doubt. Otherwise, what are you doing? Throwing around an accusation with no merit?


While you, Goose, argue that it isn't about losing, I'd argue that it is. You and Tevish ultimately lost because the planned night kills failed to go through against Monster, and you are at a loss as to why. You resort to saying Monster cheated to explain this.


As for Arrrgh's point about bastard games, it is what it is. His opinion after all. All I will say, which reiterates a sliver of the above, is that Monster was upfront about a lot of things. Monster was up front about playing in her own game while modding it just like the previous time. Monster was up front about using whatever she could to her advantage if able -- just like the previous time. Monster was up front about this being an open setup.

Now was it fully open with the hidden elements? No and yes. No because the game should have been like the previous; however, yes because we all received PMs with those special messages which were NOT part of the previous game, and we did nothing about that information we all had to make connections.

Again, as Tevish said, this was a deserved loss (bastard game or not) due to the actions of the players involved. Simple as that.

You're entitled to your opinion regardless, but wrt to Goose's approach -- still not cool no matter what.
