Have you ever heard the stories of the Targaryen dynasty, the one ring of power, or the adventures of Sherlock Holmes and his partner Dr. Watson?

Children's plays.

You see, the story of Conflux is not as old as Time (though it's been long enough that it might as well be). Long ago before Gleemax (I think) and the boardpocalypse, there was a forum that a lot of us came from. A forum maintained by Wizards of the Coast wherein a lot of people bonded over a lot of things (pending your preferences). All things Magic, D&D, community based events, and what have you.

But that's not the point.

Way back then, in the mafia forum Paranoia Paradise, a lot of great people joined to backstab people. A lot of creative people. Now, surely, a community can't thrive if you don't bring in new people. Every so often when a new Magic set came along, there was a mafia event based around said Magic set (I don't actually know how long of a tradition this kind of thing was). Such was the case with Conflux.

For those not in the know, Conflux is set belonging to the Shards of Alara block in Magic the Gathering. So, true to fashion, Conflux Mafia, as it was known, was based around the cards that made up the set of Conflux. The key thing that mattered here was that everyone had Power and Toughness just like creatures in Magic: The Gathering.

Bear with me, the setup is almost done. Now, if you're wondering what this has to do with mafia, well, I'm glad you're thinking. The mechanic of Night Kills was based upon the power and toughness aspect. A real "strong" creature could easily kill a "weak" creature. That's how the mafia was setup: their don was the powerful creature in their group with others having different uses.



Now we get to the meat of the story with not as much details (because time is a thing as it not having stuff backed up lololol wtf wizardsgg).

I was town in that game, and I had the "honor" of being against the "worst" mafia team ever assembled in my lifetime. The mafia consisted of a mafia don by some name I do not remember (it had Ninja in it or something), PK (now known as PariahKnows), roxburydude (he was a character), Tevish Szat (this guy is still a character that roams around and was part of the War Game), and yours truly -- my glorious waifu Jay Dreven. This "lovely" group of concentrated evil made up the mafia for Conflux.

On the town side? Myself (obviously), a central character that is pivotal to the early game/mid game development named funkmu, a person with an Elspeth avatar named Wizards_White_Knight (I still remember them after all this time because it was a horror of a game), and Murica (lolfmlgdijfc).
