The only reason this adaptation worked is that they let Neil Gaiman do it himself. He's talked openly about how bad every other adaptation anyone ever pitched to him was (he even confessed to leaking a script to the press in order to keep it from being produced).

Has anybody heard from Luna through other avenues? I'm starting to get a little worried with how long it's been since Luna's been around.

It's been about a week, but I've been in contact with him
The new job is fairly hectic, but it seems more so what's keeping him from checking in is that his net connectivity had been absolutely trash as of late.
He can barely load emails about every four days or so.

Okay, good to know. Hopefully he'd doing alright, and I hope he gets his internet fixed up soon!

Despite the fact that he hasn't been around in nearly five years at this point, I would like to wish Yxoque a very happy birthday!

Been quiet around here the past week or so.
I presume everyone was as busy as I've been. Well... Busy isn't perhaps the right word, but just a lack of discretionary time.

I often just don't know what to say, I say.

Going to have to look up some more weird anime names.

I'm pretty much always around, but my life is so disinteresting at the moment that I have little to rebate. I'm just in a general mayonnaise right now.

Man, malapropisms abuse me, but they're hard to pull off infectiously.

I had a very strange dream last night wherein I was playing a video game where you run around this large, modernist mansion type of house and your goal is to kill everyone else as they all gang up on you. I was playing as Sharaka, and she had this breath weapon attack that was really powerful but had a really long cooldown time, so I would run away from everyone as the time counted down, then trick them into clumping up and hitting huge swaths of them with the breath weapon. To make it ever stranger, everyone else was just normal people in modern clothing and everything.

I woke up before I found out if I was going to win or not, but I feel as though it was going pretty well for me.

Hey Huey!
Good to see you. I was starting to get worried.

Unrelated:
I've been stopping to think of all the things I take for granted if I hypothetically was sent back in time.
Nostalgia has been a persistent pain lately, and I know I'm thinking of things from far far back in rose tinted shades, but the more I think, the more I'm having trouble anchoring my thoughts to the things I fail to appreciate now.

Oh, I apologize. I check the forum almost daily, but I don't always come up with something worthy to contribute. If you want to occasionally ping me to check whether I'm alive and responsive, I can give you my Discord handle :D

To be honest, I occasionally think about some killswitch that would warn my online acquaintances in case of my death and even offer them a link to my creations, WIPs and whatnot so they may do something with it. Not sure any of this exists.

(some creators I find/follow online sometimes vanish mid-work(s) with no warning. It sucks. Recently a site where I read the works of a certain writer disappeared and it was a punch to the gut. I found another source and downloaded everything there, because I'm NOT putting myself in the same situation again)

...time to stop the morbid ramble for now, methinks.

Hmm, something I've found out is that often you need the proper distance to appreciate something. Or someone, tbh, it works for people as well.

If there is a general difficulty in appreciating anything present and/or close to you, that might be a therapy-worthy topic :V

I may just have committed money laundering. My stepmother's running for city council and had her daughter-in-law e-transfer me a bunch of money to donate to her campaign. She insisted that this was perfectly legal, and also that it was "not shady". I figured at least the first part was probably true so I went through with it to keep peace in the family. Looking back, I have my doubts. It was a pretty unethical thing to go through with regardless, but my mother is a terrifying person and I've learned to just not question her.

Anybody have any good news?

No good news?

Which of these is the very evil name of an actual character from Japanese media?
  • Rancid Vile
  • Shanky Violents
  • Burning Lashout
  • Devilot de Deathsatan IX
  • Whoops Indecorous

Spoiler

I mean, My good news has just been perfectly balanced. Like I got a new refrigerator! It doesn't fit through the door and I'm going to have to call a technician to strip it, move it in, and essentially reassemble it in the kitchen! But that should actually be an easy process! But I'll only know once I get the technician.

And huzzah, I guessed right on this one! Or more accurately I felt like I'd seen that one before.

I was quite curious if this one was too easy. Is the one that stands out too alluring, or a suspiciously obvious trap?
Also, is Rancid Vile a better name than Whoops Indecorous?

Rancid vile does come across as more an early 90's Saturday morning cartoon villain.
