So, I have several first chapters of various novels I've been working on or completed over the years. I was wondering if there would be a general interest on the boards in reading some of them, as well as the first chapters of stuff board members are working on.

I'll post my chapters to this thread as a text body, and you can discuss as you like, and if you post yours I'll comment based on your wishes (grammar, content, etc.).

Depends on what they are about...but generally, a yes from me.

The two I'm working on are Teen novels, one urban fantasy/horror about a girl that moves to a small town in Texas and gets sucked into the quest to find a monster serial killer, and one about this kid whose best friend kills herself but doesn't leave a suicide note behind, so he sets out to write it for her.

I'm not a fan of most contemporary literature, since I feel like it's all a study in "white people problems." I like fantasy and horror, but don't know if I suck at it or not.

Fantasy is equally racially exclusive. It's all about "people problems". Some fantasy authors even go so far is to disallow goblins.

Seriously. And don't get me started on "humanoid privilege." They pretend it doesn't exist, and then claim they're the victims even when they're clearing running around and slaughtering everything! Ugh.
