And so another day comes to a close. And yet hope lingers here for town finally found something worth celebrating. Ex is dead. He was Cross My Heart, Hope You Die.
It is now Night 3. You have 48 hours to do that boogaloo.
We interrupt your regularly scheduled evening to bring you game altering news! A broken promise has forever altered the alignment landscape of the game. I betray you because I LOVE you (Laurentus) has severed his connection to Till Death do Us Part (Duskyblue). Two lovers previously intertwined on a fundamental level, now fractured forevermore. Jilted and despondent she turned to those who know the pain of broken promises and the misery they bring, The Broken Hearts Club (Silverfish). With her shift in alignment the mafia/wolves are no more!
What's more, with their elimination The Broken Hearts Club has achieved their win condition (Eliminating all threats of broken promises). Simultaneously the Town has eliminated all threats as well to achieve their own win condition. The stars have aligned and the Heavens has shone upon (almost) everybody! Sorry bout it Ex...
Winners
The Broken Hearts Club - Silverfish, KoD, Duskyblue The Town - Dark, Mongoose, Skystone, Fext, Rag, Laurentus, Hello World, Naga
Roles
Town
The Hippocratic Oath - As a Doctor you have vowed to do no harm. Your continued practice as a Doctor rides upon this promise you have made with the world as a whole. To that end anything you do that breaks this vow will render your abilities inert, including voting to end somebody’s life through the lynch. Each Night you may target a player. They will be safe from harm that night.
For Great Justice - You have committed yourself to seeing Justice done in this world. To that end each Day if you have made and kept a promise, you may reset all votes made that day. Each player will be able to recast their vote as if for the first time that day.
Seeker of Truth - You’re a person of distinction. You don’t go around just giving your pinky to anybody. You demand absolute fidelity. To that end you have become the absolute vetter of pinky’s. Whenever you enter into a pinky promise with another player, you will be informed of how many promises that player has on official record, and how many they have broken. You will also be informed if they break the promise you made with them. (This role does not circumvent the games built in alignment protections.)
Howdy Ho Neighbor - The world doesn’t have to be a big scary place. At least that’s what you believe. Your door is always open. Each player that makes a promise with you will be placed into your Neighborhood (Found Here). Any player that breaks their promise with you will be removed from the Neighborhood.
F’in Savage - In another life you were an enforcer. Severed Pinky’s of those who stood in the way of your crew. You’ve since left that life behind you. But the past always has a way of catching up to us. To everybody else you will appear as scum. On the flip, however, you will have access to the scum kill. You cannot claim this ability, nor how the scum kill works. Scum Kill: If you break a promise during the day you will be able to target a player to kill the following night. Only the first player with access to this ability to do so will be able to use this ability that night.
I’ll hold you to that - You have the unique ability to hold players to the promises they make with you, but you are limited in your capacity to do so. Twice during the game you will be able to lock a player into a promise they have made to you by posting in thread (bold and colored) “I’ll hold you to that [Player Name]”. At that point they will not be able to break that promise mechanically. If the promise is of a nonmecanically enforceable nature and they break it, they will be punished severely and publicly. (This roles does not circumvent the game’s built in alignment protections)
I betray you because I LOVE you - You and [Player] are linked by a vow that transcends a mere Pinky Promise. You are lovers of the truest sense and you may talk to them [here]. When one of you dies, so will the other. However you may break a promise to [Player] to sever this connection at any time. This may have unforeseen consequences.
[If Seven breaks the vow, TDDUP will join the broken hearts club and CMHHYD will become an SK.]
The Truth Will Out - You are the game’s namesake, as you represent every aspect of the game. Each day you may make a promise with a player. If you do, you will be able to target a player you’ve made a promise with the following night to learn their alignment. You cannot claim this ability or results until you break a promise, however. Once you do you will lose access to this ability, so keep that in mind in planning your strategy.
Honesty is all I know - You are incapable of breaking any promises you make in the game. Additionally you are barred from directly lying during the course of the game. Face it, Tiger. You just got NLP’d. If you break a promise or lie, you will be killed at the start of the following day.
Mafia
Cross my Heart, Hope You Die - Vengeance is the name of your game. Just because you’re Mafia, doesn’t mean you can’t have a moral code. Each night you’ll have the option to kill a player that has broken a promise with you. You cannot use this ability in conjunction with the Scum Kill (you have access to this ability). Your partner is [Player] and you may talk with them [here]. Scum Kill: If you break a promise during the day you will be able to target a player to kill the following night. Only the first player with access to this ability to do so will be able to use this ability that night.
Till Death do Us Part - You and [Player] are linked by a vow that transcends a mere Pinky Promise. You are lovers in the truest sense and you may talk to them [here]. When one of you dies, so will the other. The only way for you to sever this link is for you to kill [Player] yourself. This may have unforeseen consequences. Your Mafia partner is [Player] and you speak with them [here]. You also have access to the Scum Kill. Scum Kill: If you break a promise during the day you will be able to target a player to kill the following night. Only the first player with access to this ability to do so will be able to use this ability that night.
[If TDDUP breaks the vow they will become unhinged and shift into SK mode, wanting to watch the entire world burn. CMHHYD will have the option to join the BHC.]
Cult
The Broken Hearts Club - There is nothing more soul crushing than having promises smashed to pieces in front of your eyes. You’ve decided to gather the pieces of the promises and hearts to reassemble them into a semi functioning entity. Each day you may target a player to learn if they have had any of their promises broken. Each night you may offer a player a place in the Club. Players with broken promises will have the choice of joining or not but will have to make an uninformed decision. The members of the Club, including yourself, will be unknown to anybody but you. If you die the Club will most likely disband. The Club wins when all threats of broken promises are eliminated.

Lol, yeah, poor Ex. And who'd'a thunk my betrayal would work out so well for both factions, except Ex.
But yeah, legit, this happened for all the wrong reasons, lmao. I was very certain Dusky was Town, and had signed our collective death warrants with how that EoD went, so to try and prevent the NK from killing us both, I betrayed the promise I set up about 3 minutes after joining the lovers' chat, and then it just happened to win the game, lmao.
The stars basically aligned for the cult win. Silver had five roles to cult/kill in order to win and that just happened to be almost exclusively the roles that died early game.
I think Ex would have had an easy go at things last day if he had just been honest (mostly) about his role. He was basically given a vig pass with no possible counter claim (although unknown to him) and instead chose to try to claim some kind of bg variant despite there being an easily deductable dead doc on the pile already. Had he not been lynched there the game wouldn't have ended here and the real fun could have begun.
What would have happened with Laur breaking the bond and joining the cult with Ex alive? (With me obviously being aware he was mafia)
Your shift would have been private along with the stripping of your ability to kill. You also would have been barred from claiming Mafia knowledge similar to how Naga's role was restricted. Ex would be told that something wasn't quite right with you since split and that he would have to take control of the NKs to ensure them. His path to SK would simply be alluded to.
Conversely had you broken the connection Ex would had an option to go cult or stay Mafia. He would still be told you seemed not quite right. If he went cult he would be restricted as well. You, on the other hand, would be frankly told of the turn to SK. Your unhinged factor is that your lovers discord would become a literal haunt where all your victims would be added so they could be the voices in your head, so to speak. I personally wanted that to play out.

and although I never made an explicit list it's obvious from my posting my final list looked like
DaRkStAr Skystone Laurentus
Hello World Silverfish
_ExLight Duskyblue
Which I'm pretty happy with! Definitely whiffed on Dusky especially when I thought Rag was gonna flip scum, but after she did I kinda just... had the right PoE?
Good change of pace lmao, glad to see I'm not barking up the entirely wrong tree the entire game this time around
Was fun, good game everybody! If anybody has any feedback on how I can get better I'd love to hear it, thanks.
