Anyhow, while the planeswalker part is pretty boring, the instant loyalty ability is something YMtC designers have been toying with, though mostly for countermagic since that only works with instant timing. The implementation here has potential.

yeah it's a really fun design, you play it after attacks as whichever combat trick wins you the trade that loses you the least loyalty counters.

I for one like our weirdly nameless PW here (Emps? Emperor-chan? E-chan?) No ultimate is fine by me and she will put in work. I feel like a quick double removal (+1 on enter to make a kill and -2 on turn for another) is a fairly likely outcome and is pretty decent for the cost, given that such a play still leaves an Emperor on 2 to deal with.

Assuming Kamigawa mirrors irl Japanese traditions here, the Emperor is referred to only as "Emperor" while ruling, and then assigned a new name after death. So can't wait for her to die and her cards get errata'd with a new type:P

She's not going to just die, if Jin-Gitaxias has anything to say about it.
