Happy new years all!
Let's hope this one isn't a **** dumpster fire.

In other news, how is everyone?
I'm practically down to a sizzle I'm so gods damned burnt out over this holiday crowd at work.
Though apparently and hilariously, we didn't have it NEARLY so bad as another nearby location. But we hate the GM, so it's okay.
Or should I say former GM seemingly?

Yeah, what he said :D

I left my job to dedicate myself to art full-time yesterday! I'm gonna define a working schedule and order a drawing tablet in the next two weeks then pick back up a game project with a friend. He's convinced this game will make us mad bank, I'm mostly curious to see how far I can go not having to soldier through each day hoping I won't be too tired to be creative back home, both in art skills and in a creative project with a clear end goal. Soooo yeah, wish me luck! I will keep you updated on the game's development, but I warn you the game will be VERY nsfw in nature

Happy new year everybody.

Amen to that.

Unfortunately Betty White already passed away so I don't have my hopes up.

Congratulations and good luck! The gaming scene can be very difficult to break into, though my understanding is (as someone who has almost never paid for NSFW content) is that NSFW art tends to attract many more commissioners and donators than SFW art.

Either way I at least would love to hear about it when you get off the ground (e.g. a landing page or devblog).

I just wanted to complain about Texas weather for a hot minute because it just dropped 50 degrees.

It was in the 70s (low 20s C) just yesterday and overnight it dropped down to 22 (-5 C). I think the high is supposed to be just above freezing for today.

I don't know; consistency isn't necessary great either. It's been consistently below zero here for about a week, I think. When I was driving home on New Year's Eve (technically early New Year's Day), it was -27 at one point.

I went to see Spiderman, but didn't. Looks like the theatre had a burst pipe so I went to Costco instead.

I mean, it wasn't Spider Man. Good deal for the money though. Got some frozen chimichangas and some spicy dill pickle (Artificially) -flavored almonds, so that's a meal. I mean, I couldn't eat Spider Man, or at least not without great difficulty.

Yeah I did see some social media going around about things like around the North-East or Canada getting to like -45 and frost forming inside rooms, so on the one hand I'm glad it's not like that here.

On the other hand I expect that things up north are actually built to handle the cold, unlike last year when basically all of Texas shut down for a week.

On the other hand, I would appreciate a natural environment like those up north that aren't plagued with things like tornadoes and hurricanes.

On the other hand, I would loathe to have to do things like drive to work under those conditions so maybe I wouldn't actually.

Well not with that attitude, you can't. :p

Also I can't quite process what you got from Costco. How did you artificially pick up pickles? Are the almonds artificial? Can you not afford natural-grown almonds?

You have three hands? ;)

But yes, I've very much come to the belief that there is no perfect place to live, and if there were, it wouldn't be, because it would be horribly overpopulated. I dislike the cold, and having to shovel with any degree of frequency really sucks. It's quite the sensation being about to actually feel icicles form on your beard, I can tell you. And yes, there are days when driving in the snow and ice is incredibly stressful, especially when so many other people around you seems to have forgotten how to drive in winter.

Having said all that, and to one of your points, I have never been in or had to worry really about hurricanes, and in the time I've lived here, I only know of one tornado hitting.

For the record, whatever weather Luna has, I'm only about 15 hours behind. It was 70 when I woke up today.... In the afternoon. Now it's SNOWING.

@TPMan: sorry you didn't get to see spider man, buddy. However I'm glad the theater workers seemingly got the day off.. I'm sure they bloody needed it after the few weeks we've had.
But hey, Costco! Nice.

The last two weeks up here it's been negative teens/twenties degrees C, but it's warming right up. We set heat records in the summer, and now, well we aren't setting cold records, but it's atypically nippy.
They're almonds with a spicy-dill-pickle flavor. THe flavor is not natural, but the almonds presumably are. I mean I didn't check...

I've been playing a lot of Monster Hunter again lately. Like, a lot a lot. I haven't exactly lost sleep over it, but I've definitely been doing it to the exclusion of things I would normally be doing, like watching anime or, uhm, "personal time". It kind of ties in to me holding back on internet usage so that I can watch as much of AGDQ as I can. I didn't get any days off for it -- a coworker just started her maternity leave and since I don't trust management to get coverage for me I don't want my 100+ pt load to fall on my fellows -- but with the way my ISP sneakily charges me I'm not sure if streaming 7 days of marathon is the best idea anyway. Still excited to see it, though.

You have three hands? ;)

Four, but who's counting? ;)

God I always think that people with regular snowy winters actually know how to handle them, but I always have to be reminded that, no, people are **** drivers everywhere. I'd love to live in a place where I didn't *have* to drive to get anywhere.

OOOOOOOOH that's what you meant. See, I just wouldn't have put the "artificially flavored" part because I am not going to assume someone grew dill-pickle almonds. Maybe there's some manner of pickling almonds that wouldn't be gross but as an American I am always going to assume some fake powder is sprinkled over nuts for any extra flavoring.

Spicy almond sprinkles on presumably regular almonds.

So, how's everyone doing?
Now that the holidays are our of the way and work can become something akin to stable, I'm finally attempting to recuperate.
Sadly, there's not much else filling my time just right at the moment. I haven't accrued enough energy again to put it towards watching anything new or playing any of the attack of games I've had for.... Well, longer than a lack of energy because of the holidays can be blamed for.

There's a film I'm looking forward to going to see this weekend, and if I'm lucky, the last three books in a series I like might finally have come in. Unfortunately, that's a dreadful limited pool these days. I seem to have exhausted most all my reading materials and nothing new has made any appearance to fill that void.

Creatively, I continue to pour effort into deck design, just to keep myself occupied and I continue to you with the idea for a star finder campaign that I realistically will never run because I don't have a group. But that's that I suppose.
