The collector numbers also indicate that there will be 302 cards, which seems to mean either a lot more cards or maybe a lot more lands or something.

Hidetsugu and Atsushi both look very very standard playable, Hidetsugu might enable some cool sacrifice stuff or he might just be playable anyway for tons of damage and cards.

I always have mixed feelings about these early reveal streams where they show us a few cards but none of the set mechanics. I just want to know the mechanical themes of the set!

They did talk a lot about the flavor themes, at least, and that sounded interesting. I'm definitely into both the cyberpunk aspect and the callbacks to original Kamigawa. The spirit art I've seen so far I think manages to be surreal without being quite as grotesque/unreadable/unappealing as a lot of the spirits in the original block.

It'll be interesting to see how many returning characters we get, given the 1000-year time skip. I wasn't expecting Hidetsugu, but apparently he merged with a demon in one of the novels, so sure why not.

Also, +1 card draw on a 3-mana planeswalker seems really good.

Yeah, he got mad that his patron, the All-Consuming Oni of Chaos, lost in a fight with O-Kagachi, so he went and beat him up and took over the role.

It's heavily suggested that the emperor of Kamigawa is Michiko Konda, who also became divine in the original story, as one half of the Sisters of Flesh and Spirit maintaining the boundary between the spirit and mortal realms.

There's a gang calling itself the Hyozan Reckoners, which was the name of the group Hidetsugu and Toshiro Umezawa were in, and the boss is an Umezawa, though it's unclear if he's using the legacy or if he's a blood descendant (possible if Kiku, Night's Flower got pregnant with Toshiro's child before he was banished to Dominaria). In the gang is a shaman who gets possessed by Azamuki, Treachery Incarnate (Cunning Bandit).

So, there've been a few returned characters already. The set's central conflict is modernity versus tradition, so there will be a lot of throwbacks.

That leak also showed two showcase cards representing echoes of legends of original Kamigawa on the backside of (presumably transforming) DFCs, and a card for Kyodai. Kyodai and Takemuna were the only cards that were reasonably complete in the leak.
