A salon in San Fransisco called Tata massage offers a slap treatment (what it sounds like) to make customers look younger. Their Yelp review is quite fantastic.

President William McKinley loved carnations and wore them as a good luck charm. While attending the Pan-American Exposition on September 6, 1901, he greeted a line of people. McKinley pulled his famous red carnation from his lapel and gave it to a little girl waiting in line. In the next few moments Leon Czolgosz would shoot the president twice in the torso with a revolved he had concealed beneath a handkerchief. McKinley died eight days later.

Do we know who the little girl is? I bet she never got shot while wearing that flower.

Fact- McKinley's carnation has the unique ability to defer negative consequences (70+%) incurred while wearing the carnation until its removal. In 1931, the "Ragged Red Rose" as it came to be known, was split into five parts which were given to powerful British and American politicians and business leaders. The roses all failed simultaneously on August 16, 1977, killing all five owners.

In Victorian times the word "leg" was considered dirty. The preferred term was "limb". I hope doctors were given a reprieve from this indecency.

Keeping orchids was a popular hobby in Victorian England, but only among men, because the orchid was thought to too closely resemble female genitalia. You would think only women would be permitted to keep them. Seems like they got it backwards.

Portuguese has hundreds of words for male genitalia.

The Inuit have over a hundred words for snow, but that number's kind of a cop out since they affix adjectives onto the word itself. It's like calling "snow" and "wet snow" two different words for snow.

In a Japanese version of one of the Zelda games, three different items are all simply called "force" this is likely because of different kanji for the same words (although I didn't actually look that last part up)

Despite all the crossdressing, lgbt and genderbending in the media, Japan is an extremely conservative state where such things are not encouraged.

Monkeys have fur.

Carrots are delicious.

It's 11:35 where I am.

Carrots ARE delicious. Raw. You need to have that snap. Mushy carrots are as appetizing as they sound.

I make a delicious carrot casserole, and candied or baked carrots are amazing. Carrots in soup, stir fry, curry. Yeah you're missing out.

Richard Nixon is the only US president without a school named after him. I wonder why.

Second fact- I actually do not.
