In the Reborn redesign, I added a character named The Faceless Herald:


I wanted to hint that maybe Elori, the -aligned sun deity the cultists of Illpyre worshipped, was not all that they seemed, or that they had a twisted inversion of themselves somewhere sewing mischief.

Build a black common that expands upon this theme of becoming faceless, where the brightest lights cast the darkest shadows.

Whenever one or more cards are put into exile from anywhere, put a +1/+1 counter on Zealot of the Faceless. This ability triggers only once each turn.

The original had vigilance so I felt this had to have some keyword.

I kinda feel Deathtouch would mirror Vigilance better: both are also available to green, and both have offensive and defensive utility.

That said, nice design; I regret not thinking of the classic White vs Black dichotomy.

Death touch would have been more fitting, but I wanted to mirror the original's stats. I'm worried that death touch would be too good on a 3 toughness common with upside.

I vote for TP, on the stipulation that Shamebearer would be cut from the set.

We don't got a lot of black fliers. We have a weird number of 3 toughness black creatures, so let's not do that.
