Kinda old idea (older than the Raiker-Nasperge meeting, I swear) and beyond the 50 word mark. Almost double that, which I believe is called drabble. Not sure it warrants its own thread, so here it is.

Another drabble. Maybe I should open a separate thread? Not sure how important it is to separate the 50- and the 100- word flash fiction, though.

@Nasperge and the Moonfolk: It's always a little surreal to read about odd replacement effects with Aubedore cards, like when Tryst's reading came up with multiple copies of The Demon, or when Antine's reading came up with multiple copies of the teardrop, which, like The Moon, isn't an Abedore card. So this microfic seems very much in that tradition, and I enjoy that.

@Sharaka and the Boy: This one definitely seems like a glimpse of a larger story. I don't have a lot to say about it, though I like Sharaka having to deal with people like this boy.

Nah, it just needs more alliteration. Makes for easier mnemonics.

( :D )

Hanara smiled as the man handed her his gold. There was, perhaps, a small part of her that was bothered by the fact that her sale would more or less ruin some stranger’s life. The man turned away, and she counted the coins again. It didn’t bother her that much.

Kahr stared at the Viashino, Sharaka, as they both completed their summonings. Suddenly, a large Magma Scorpion appeared…in front of each of them. The creatures set upon each other immediately, but they were interested in something other than fighting.

“We, uh, should leave,” Kahr said. “Truce?”

“Sure,” Sharaka said. “Run!”

I don't know what I just read, and I'm not sure if I want to know...

It was good, though!

Ha! Nice one. Although Sharaka might be interested in the scorpion's... encounter? Not enough to stay within any splash radius, however.

I also appreciated Hanara's one, though I regrettably forgot to comment. Negotiable morals are... convenient, as I believe once had been said about Fisco :D

WARNING: This is NOT CANON and is NOT PLANNED TO BE.

Quote:

Sharaka fell on her knees in the ruined Forge, among shattered homes and mangled skeletons. Orida grimaced. "Alright, ****!" She conceded. "Just **** off! Shari, you said?"

Sharaka's watery eyes widened at the name. "I'm so sorry..."

Orida frowned. "How the **** did you know?"

"...what?"

"That's her message. "I'm sorry"."

Sharaka screamed.

Good one here. I think there are several different characters who would be simultaneously interested in and horrified by travelling with Orida, and I think Sharaka, with her history and trauma, would definitely be one of them. I think this would be incredibly painful for Sharaka, but potentially very cathartic.

I'd be very interested in how canon Sharaka and canon Orida might come to meet one another!

Thanks for posting, Huey.

Unless Sharaka's mother Tharna somehow bound herself to her daughter (which is a somewhat bittersweet thought) this is unlikely to hit as hard as I show it here. I'm fairly certain that the next time she leaves the Forge it will be for good. Someone potentially able to revive the voice of extinct viashino cultures, though? Between Orida and Ilyta, she'd have a hard time choosing a travel companion. Not that it wouldn't be unnerving for her, but still.

Regardless, Orida hasn't much of a filter between heart and mouth and Sharaka would definitely appreciate that, as we see in the M:EM HS.

As I said, they could meet in a place of "interest" to both: a place where a ton of viashino have died. Orida would hardly end there willingly of course, but her luck doesn't take her wishes in much consideration, if I remember correctly. Otherwise, they could easily single each other out as walkers if they bumped into each other, as they don't belong to the most common races of the Multiverse.

Thank you for reading and commenting :)

Aww. And ouch.

Yeah.

I'm slowly ticking off the special day themed stories, though. I've had Halloween stories, Christmas stories, a Thanksgiving story, a Valentine's Day story, and even a Leap Day story, and now I can add Mother's Day to the list. So, you know. I've got that going for me, I guess...

:D
