It's certainly...a stadium. Those things that existed for millennia before Harry Potter came out. Doesn't even have like those tall goal posts or those weird massive towers that the Quidditch Stadium did.

The sport they play is Mage Tower, where each side has a tower structure with a mascot that is meant to be captured and brought back to the other tower. It's Capture the Flag with magic, which is different from a ball game on brooms that forbids magic.

That said, I think any magic sport competition is going to look the same initially because sports are weird and don't seem different to those unfamiliar, like I'm sure all board games look the same for those unfamiliar.

Magic capture the flag feels far more Percy Jackson than Harry Potter if I was to compare it to any children's series
