As a boy, Lottrie would lovingly hand off the gemstones he mined from the fire-blessed earth to his father, who would use them to craft the most flawless of furnishings, sanding them smooth in the family forge. Now as a man, they just went straight to the goblins.

Sorry guys, I know I'm slacking here. It's been a super hard week. I'll be back, and if it makes anyone feel any better I do beat myself up over not having moved forward with the Pro Tour every day.

Thanks for the birthday wishes!

A spambot posted a bunch of links, and not only did he necro my thread of all threads, his join date was June 3rd. Looks weird out-of-context now that the mods have nixed his post, but it was still just a funny coincidence. :)

Preferred Pronoun Set:
Wayfaring Whelp
Creature — Dragon Scout
Flying, haste
Whenever Wayfaring Whelp attacks, defending player reveals the top card of their library. If it's a land card, that player puts it into their hand.
"Tomorrow? Who can say where I'll be so far in the future."
3/2

I'm always looking for ways to give Blue haste, and the Goblin Guide drawback felt rather apropos, with a relevant creature type, flying, and an extra point of power tacked on for good measure.

Why are you looking for ways to give blue haste, and why do you think Goblin Guide is a blue card?

This is pretty much traditional multicolor; best example of blue haste imo is Bonded Fetch, which is more of a quick activated ability enabler.

Because I'm a maniac.

I just want one card. One blue card to flagrantly break the color pie. That's all I ask.

Idk, kind of like Vision Skeins, drawing them cards? Sort of like a mill thing, yeah?

Yeah, I guess I was going for more of a Giant Solifuge // Augury Adept sort of thing.

Yeah, Bonded Fetch might be my favorite card. See how I based the Pro Tour Quarterfinals around it.

But enough of that. Here's a land creature:

Umbral Sapling
Land Creature — Treefolk Forest Image
(Umbral Sapling isn’t a spell, it’s affected by summoning sickness, and it has “: Add .”)
, Pay 1 life: or .
Doran did not survive the Great Aurora, but his progeny did.

Reminds me of Murmuring Bosk; nice tie in with the flavor on that note.

Only thing I would suggest is a color indicator like Dryad Arbor has (mostly because Green Sun's Zenith and Verdant Catacombs would get both)

Edit: Also on the note of blue color pie breaking ...

I worry that Umbral Sapling is really pushing the limit on power.

That card hurts my head.

@Power: It's kinda hard to judge as neither Dryad Arbor nor Murmuring Bosk were big in Standard (at least Bosk wasnt), but that may have been because of the high power of that standard environment itself (Five Color Control via Rfelecting Pool and Vivid lands, UB Fairies, etc), and both are somewhat fringe in Modern and Legacy (Bosk because Treefolk arent really viable, Arbor because it typically counts as an EtB tapped because of summoning sickness and relies on Fetches and GSZ to do much).

Other than a color indicator as a QoL buff, not sure what else could be used to balance it out.

@Psionic Blast: Old school blue had a lot of color breaks, some as recent as New Phyrexia

Begin a subgame using players' graveyards as their decks. Each player who wins the subgame draws four cards. (If a player has fewer than seven cards in their graveyard, they overdraw and lose the subgame.)

Cards starting subgames are so dumb yet I love them.

Nominated.

I once made a custom card cube that had subgames as a major mechanical theme. Drafting and playing that as multiplayer games IRL was... fun?
