@sky
So you think KoD is town. Because he's innocent until proven guilty? Seems weird but ok

That's kind of the basis of modern justice. I think it seems okay.

But I presently have no opinion on KoD. I was trying to underscore that pressuring players is good when they might be scum. Picking at random, at the start of Day 1, you're 1/4ish to pressure actual scum, 1/4ish to out a stronger town role, and 1/2ish to out some minor town player. The latter two results benefit scum more than town for the aforementioned reason that town players tend to volunteer info by themselves if and when they think it's helpful.

(Obviously, if you're scum, you're incentivized to pressure here.)

i'm flattered you think this although i think i'm generally pretty bad at matching my metas

certainly it shouldn't be possible to read me based on the 4 or 5 posts i've made thus far

Wrt kod that was not even heavy pressure
And i am upset

its pretty unusual for someone to reach L-1 that quickly, which is certainly heavy pressure. Being asked to claim in that situation would feasibly be effective on many players who are afraid of death.

and to be clear, I think that KoD stands a decent chance of being scum simply because i think scum could have gotten away with hammering in that situation and it probably would have been to their advantage. The main mitigating factors here are that if there were scum on the wagon, especially later on the wagon, then scum either couldn't hammer or wouldn't for fear of making themselves look too bad, or that scum weren't agile enough to respond to the window during which KoD was at L-1, which iirc was relatively short.

it was about 12 hours, which is feasibly not enough time for a mafia member to have the opportunity to vote, and more feasibly not enough time for the mafia to discuss whether or not hammering was a good course of action (and i think most mafiosos in that situation, even if they thought hammering KoD was a good idea would be hesitant to do so without the go-head from their compatriots)

In theory if KoD is scum then it would be harder for a wagon to build on him that fast but considering the joke nature of the wagon (at least for the first 3 votes) its not unreasonable for mafia to join it or even want to join it to create a sense of distance. If KoD is scum then CL and zinger specifically look better because their votes were the ones that actually had intent to kill behind them, but those two players are also insane enough to do that as scum. (particularly zinger)

overall its still a reasonable scumtell though, in my eyes.

Day 1 is 5 days long, so please if you unvote someone, vote somebody else, we have like 4-5 votes out now, which is kinda concerning, too little accountability.

Still not sure why town mongoose would think the first 3 votes on a 5 vote joke vagon are where you should search scum.

I doubt scum would go for a quick hammer on KoD. Not with CL and Zinger pointing out the numbers. If they hadn't I could see scum taking the initiative to "accidentally" hammer, later claiming ignorance of the Lynch state as defense. But actively hammering quickly there would require a bold play most scum players wouldn't take because it will generate a lot of heat that they will immediately have to deal with the following day.

To that end Goose's post seemed very on the nose "look at me I'm definitely not hammering KoD right now guys" to me. Probably the most sus thing I've seen today.

In second is Zingers defensiveness. Claiming to know the scum team completely early game is a strategy I employ often. It's a reaction gut check differing from the old fashioned provoking somebody into a response by trap in so much that it's less directed at illiciting any certain response and generally lets people across the board react to it. Minorly sus.

CL's behavior is NAI. Trolls gotta troll.

@Zinger:

Why do you think that's uncharacteristically stable of me? This isn't my first clown rodeo.

What's uncharacteristic is for you to put so much thought into your follow through given the course of the conversation right now. Like, you legit are the one that put me at L-1 which, as Rag put it aptly, showed definite intent to kill. Yet, without the kill being secured, you're back up to analyze now. It's hilariously uncharacteristic of you.

Here's what I can't get to make sense though. If you and CL are both scum buddies, why the back to back votes? It seems counterintuitive.

@CL:

Upset because you didn't get me, ja? That's the extent of your contributions thus far. Wanting to get me. You're not even batting an eye at, for example, Zinger going above you and putting me at L-1 despite you wanting to get a claim out of me.

Guess if you're going to get that claim out of me, you're literally going to have to get me, eh, CL?

Honorable mention to Rag though for always saying two, different things.

Right now, I'm ok with how my waifu views some people (here's looking at you, CL).

Goose, watcha thinking about all that bandwagoning for the memes? You too, Arrgh. Specifically wrt to CL. Would you be opposed to voting him due to his greedy attempt for info? Or Zinger, for his somewhat reckless pursuit in potentially getting me (unlike CL)?

Nobody thought you was going to be lynched KoD. All this talk of reckless pursuits and such is slightly nerve grating.
Now if skystone would have played along and said he intended to hammer in 12 hours or so that would have been something to talk about. But you were not in an impressive amount of danger imo or we might have seen something useful.

I see you, CL.

I assume this is you admitting you can't do better.

Rest assured, I know it was your intent to try and get info despite not having actually done so.

And trust me when I tell you that you've been found out.

Isnt much I can do when ppl just play for memes instead of tactically applying pressure to sus out the scum team.

Who says we can't do both? Also tactics require you to know your target. KoD is stubborn and will die before claiming just to spite you, everybody knows that. So maybe get some better tactics?

@KoD At first I didn't even there was a meme involved with the wagoning. Once people started to bring up the fact that there were meme's involving the wagon, made no sense to me, tbh. I do think that At least 1 if not 2 Scum definitely voted on that wagon. I would not any issue to vote for either of the players mentioned, if no better candidates are found today. As they both do like Scummy based on everything so far, imo.

I forget what we're doing here. How do you play this game again?

Let's change the topic to something hopefully more productive.

I'd like EVERYONE to answer the following multiple choice question, please.

Which of the following statements best describes your feelings with regards to a Day 1 Lynch?
A. I would like to see Day 1 end in a lynch, regardless of who it is (excepting myself).
B. I would only like to see Day 1 end in a lynch if I am confident the person has good chances of being scum.
C. Same as B, except I'd also be okay with a lurker lynch in the absence of a strong scum read.
D. I would not like to see Day 1 end in a lynch (ie. You'd prefer a No Lynch).

I'd like to know where all your heads are at with regards to the lynch because, I'll remind you, we only get a lynch today if we reach a majority vote. Knowing how many of us agree at least on the concept of lynching is thus helpful.

For myself, I fall into camp C.

Lurker Vote: Monster

I'd put myself in the B camp, possibly leaning over into C.

closest to A

there are probably people i'd prefer a no-lynch over (like anyone who claims cop) but in general i'd like to see a lynch even if i don't think someone is particularly likely to be scum
