You remember pain. That much is clear. It was terrible, and you fled from it. You ran away from it as best as you could, into these dark and twisted halls that you have known ever since. Within, you found your reflections. There were twelve other selves in all, bits of “You” that kept each other company within the dark confines of your domain. It was not entirely pleasant, but it was better than the world outside.

Gradually, you forgot the nature of “you”. Your realm became a home. Your identity became no longer a tree and the apples fallen from it, but thirteen girls alike in image but divergent at heart. You turned your eyes and ears inward, and took solace in your other selves while the tempest raged outside.

But now, the wind has quieted. Instead, there is a knock on the door between where you find yourself and that outside world. The parts of you are being called forth. “You” were of many minds about what to do, but the strongest pull was to the outside, to return to that life half forgotten and leave the home you made for the sake of “safety” behind.

Before the twelve of “you” could go forth as one, a discovery was made in the dark confines. One of you was dead -- Mary, Incarnation of Trust and Faith was nothing more than a shattered porcelain doll, left in ruin by a “you” that couldn't accept this outcome.

The call from without sounded again, a knock-knock-knock on the door that had been closed for a painful long time. But none of you could leave any longer... not until your truth had been resolved. Most of “you” wished for peace and restoration, but some of “you” instead wished for something darker. There could be no such conflict in the “you” that opened the door. One way or another, part of your self would have to be expunged, its wreckage to be swept away with the legacy of the dark times that were ending.


ABOUT THIS GAME

This is a mafia game for 11 players, extremely loosely inspired by the horror game “Pocket Mirror”. The game is intended to be fairly standard in terms of its flow and content. 8 roles are Innocent-aligned (Town) and start the game with no information about any other player. Their win condition is that all Malefic-Aligned roles must be dead. 3 roles are Malefic-aligned (Mafia) who are informed of each others identities, may confer with each other via a secret chat regardless of phase, and possess a factional night kill and the win condition of having a majority of all living players be Malefic-Aligned.

Every role in this game is non-vanilla, but many will be flawed, weak, exceedingly minor, or even negative utility.

Every role in this game has its complete role name information formatted as such: “Name, Alignment-aligned Role”. The name might contain a flowery title, which is considered to be part of the role name. For instance, Mary, Incarnation of Trust and Faith, Innocent-aligned Victim has the role name of “Mary, Incarnation of Trust and Faith”, the alignment of “Innocent”, and the role of “Victim”.

When a player dies, their full and complete role name information will be revealed. If their Role does not make its function obvious, a sparse description or a link to the role's mafia wiki page may be provided at the mod's sole discretion, but full and precise details may not be granted. For instance “Mary, Incarnation of Trust and Faith, Innocent-aligned Victim (Starts the game dead).”

The game is not intended to be a “bastard” game. Your role PM is guaranteed to contain no lies, and any omissions related to your role itself (and not potential interactions with other roles that may or may not exist) will be explicit – for instance a cop-type role may be told explicitly that they do not know their sanity, and if they are not told as much they are guaranteed sane. No player will change alignments for any reason. HOWEVER, during game play, various roles and role interactions MAY OR MAY NOT be able to cause the moderator to secretly omit information or deliver false information. For instance, a cop role told they have uncertain sanity may not be sane

The “Basic” Mafia rules apply. Don't edit your posts, don't talk in the thread at night, don't discuss the game outside the game while it's running, bold and color your votes and/or actions, and if an ability conflicts with these rules, the ability takes precedence. Also don't break the general rules of the NGA forums.

This game has four phases.

“Day” lasts 120 hours, or is ended immediately if a majority lynch is reached. Days may or may not be extended by certain circumstances; such extensions are 48 hours from the original deadline (not the extending event)

“Twilight” lasts from the post that manifests a majority lynch until the mod posts the end of day and midnight Pacific Time is reached, at which point night starts. Players may talk freely on the thread as though it were day, but no votes or roles (day or night) will be processed. If day doesn't end early, no “Twilight” will occur. This is really just a fancy way of saying that day will always be rounded up to the nearest full calendar day worth of time, but hammer locks actions.

“Night” lasts 24 or 48 hours, ending early if all roles are submitted. Submit night roles to me via PM in this time.

“Dawn” lasts 0, 24 or 48 hours, ending early if all necessary choices are made. Some night roles in this game enable another player to make a choice that takes place the same night. That choice is sent out at the end of night, and players have until the end of dawn to make their choice. Dawn will occur if it is required or if any player has reason to believe that it might be required. This last condition is to prevent the presence or absence of a Dawn phase from providing any player with information that they are not entitled to. Dawn will be skipped if it can be skipped, and is treated essentially as an extension of Night: no talking on thread unless you can talk at night.

THIS IS IMPORTANT
At the start of the game, a Lynch will occur only if majority is reached. However, if a no-lynch occurs, then the following day will not end without a lynch. On such a day, if the end of the day is reached, the player with the most votes will be lynched. If there is a tie, a random tied player will be lynched. LyLo will never end without a lynch

Right. I'll remind myself imitation is the fondest form of flattery.

Remind me again the specifics of your NLP and how it works? I just want to be clear about how it is different from mine (if at all).

Obviously, the main difference is the credibility built out of longevity, given you've used your NLP for what, a couple of games? Whereas I've dutifully maintained mine for around 8 years... Still, I'd like to know specifically what other differences I should keep in mind, lest I mistakenly assume that you're following the same rules I am.
